"Uh, sure," Sly agreed, walking with the other two to the next room.
Unsure of what to do, Aleks just walked the room filled with monitors; even though he was curious, he didn't want to risk listening in their conversation with his better hearing.
He took a seat behind Jordan and Dan, who looked very concentrated on a shared screen.
"What are you guys doing?"
"Editing the short we recorded yesterday," Jordan explained.
"Cool. Can I see?"
They both nodded, seeming pleased that he was taking interest in their job. Dan used the mouse to make what they had finished play, its contents making Aleks laugh often.
"Damn dude, that was pretty good," he complimented, feeling as if the two Creatures needed the boost.
They both smiled gratefully. "Thanks, man," Dan thanked.
He continued to watch them edit as he waited for the three commentators to finish there so-called-private discussion.
Out of nowhere, he saw James and Seamus entering with satisfied smirks as Eddie trailed slowly behind them, his hands in his hoodie pockets and a visible blush on his face.
"So, do you guys have a lot of homework?" Seamus questioned, sounding oddly happy.
Everyone muttered their answer, which were all similar to 'nope'.
"Awesome. I was thinking we should eat out tonight, you know, at that fancy restaurant Ze kept talking about."
"Are you insane? It must cost a fortune to go there so there's no way we'll afford it!" Jordan yelled.
James scoffed at his exaggeration. "Calm your tits, Hordan; Ze said there's a discount Monday's and Tuesday's, so we're good."
"Are Ze and Sp00n coming, then?"
"Ze's leaving to go see a friend for a project soon and Sp00n is talking to Ally on Skype, so no."
For a second, Aleks wondered who 'Ally' was, but just shrugged it off as her most likely being his girlfriend.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Dan said joyfully.
As they were walking towards the cars, Jordan brought an important problem to everyone's attention.
"Were six so, unless four people want to squeeze in the back, some people need to get in another car."
Seamus and James looked at each other with knowing faces, as if they were agreeing on something telepathically.
"Well, I say," Seamus started, practically pushing Sly and him to what he guessed was Eddie's car. "These two go in Sly's car and we go in the other one."
He shrugged, not thinking about the pushing much. "Sure, it's fine with me. What about you, Eddie?"
After hearing no reply, he looked at Eddie who seemed to be glaring at the couple furiously.
"Eddie?"
Sly's head turned to him quickly, seeming as if he just snapped back into reality.
"Uh, yeah; it's fine."
The others went in what was probably Koots' car while Eddie and him and entered his.
As they drove in complete silence, Aleks couldn't help but feel strangely... awkward, to be honest. He couldn't pinpoint the exact reason for it, but that only perturbed him even more.
He shifted from his leaning position on the window and straightened up, looking at his driving friend; perhaps with a little conversation the unwanted feeling would leave.
"So," he trailed off, not thinking of anything more to add.
"So," the usually giggling Hispanic repeated the same way as he did.
"Um, what did James and Seamus want to talk to you about?"
He saw Eddie visibly tense up and gripped the steering wheel tighter as he stopped at a red light and by the nervous look in his eyes he could tell that Sly was visibly searching for a response.
"It's not important."
"Well, if they needed to talk about it privately with you, it probably is pretty fucking important," he argued.
"It's not, just... just don't worry about it," Eddie persisted.
"Come on, you can trust me; I won't say it to anyone else."
"No, Aleks! Just drop it!" Eddie ordered loudly, stomping on the pedal as the light turned green.
He flinched and turned to the window, retreating to his original position. He felt his ears flatten themselves pathetically on his head, tears brimming his eyes slightly. He knew he must've looked pitiful, almost crying just because of Sly snapping at him, but he couldn't help it; something about his friend being seriously angry with him just... didn't make him feel good. In retrospect, he shouldn't have tried to insist on something Sly clearly didn't want to talk about it, but he just had to be a curious ass.
He glanced out the window sorrowfully, watching the moving houses and people walking by. Even if he tried to distract himself with the passing bystanders, his mind couldn't help but go back to Sly's outburst, making him feel guiltier.
"I'm sorry," he apologized in a whisper, still glancing outside, not expecting Eddie to hear.
He heard Sly exhale remorsefully. "I'm sorry, Aleks. I shouldn't have yelled like that."
He didn't respond, as much as he wanted to assure that it was fine, that it didn't matter. The thing was, it wasn't fine. He didn't feel better in the least, not even after an apology. He wasn't sure if it was guilt or anger or even sadness, he only knew that he hadn't liked Sly snapping at him at all.
As they were arriving, Aleks had already decided to keep his distance from his friend to keep himself from making another mistake and frustrating Sly even more. Even though the time spent with him was great, he preferred being somewhat unhappy for the rest of the afternoon than getting a pissed off Eddie on his back again.
As the car slowed down to a stop as Sly parked his car in the parking lot of the restaurant. Ignoring the fact that Eddie was still wearing his hoodie and he had forgotten to bring his own, he stepped out without a word and stomped to where the other guys were waiting for them.
He pushed passed them and into the entrance of the diner with a scowl, hearing James say yell something just before the glass door closed.
"What the fuck did you do?"
