I sigh, running a hand through my long brown hair and look at the sunset from my window.

"You okay?" A soft voice says from behind me. I turn to see my best friend, Autumn, standing in the doorway with a mug of coffee. Her brown hair, longer than mine, is thrown up into a messy bun and she is wearing an oversized long-sleeve top.

"I don't know. I guess." I glumly respond, turning back again to face the window.

Autumn sighs, walking to me. She hands me the mug and lifts my feet up, sitting down and putting my legs on her lap.

"Tell me." She says, and I turn to look at her beautiful blue eyes that I've always been envious of.

I look back out the window again. After a few minutes of sifting through my thoughts, I heavily sigh. "It was him again." I quietly respond.

"Again?! Caitlin, how many times have I told you to break up with him?!" Autumn says.

"A lot." I reply.

"What did he do this time?" She asks.

"Same thing as last time. I woke up in the bed only to find him having sex with another girl." I respond, a tear rolling down my cheek.

"Oh, Caitlin." She says, voice slightly cracking as more tears fall down my face.

"I can't let him go, because no matter what, I still love him. And I hate it!" I cry out as she pulls me in for a hug.

"I know, I know. Love can be addicting. But what you're going through is the opposite. You're going through heartbreak and all you want is to get him back. But it's not gonna happen. He's long gone." She says, and as much as it hurts, I know she is right.

I slowly pull away from her and wipe my eyes. "I guess you're right."

She nods. "Now, why don't you finish that coffee and then we can go bake some cookies?" She offers.

Cookies are my favorite.

I smile, nodding. "Sounds good!"

"Alright." She smiles, cupping my cheek before moving my legs and getting up. "And hurry up this time!" She yells from the doorway.

I smile as I take a sip of my coffee. "No promises."

I look down at my hands, my wrists slightly scarred. My eyes travel down to my legs where a few scars lay, along with a fresh bandage on my upper right thigh. I sigh, recalling the memory.

I smile to myself, deciding to make breakfast for my boyfriend, Alex. We've been dating for about three years now, and although we have had some fights, still manage to pull through.

"Don't go, Ally." Alex mumbles, tightening his grip around my waist, making me unable to move.

Wait, what?

I wiggle out of his grasp, pull the sheets up to my bare chest, and slap his shoulder. Instantly, he is awake.

"What?" He asks, looking around.

"Who is this Ally chick?" I ask, my heart pounding.

"Nobody, nobody." He nervously says, and I sigh, looking down. He notices my sadness, and turns my head to face him. "Babe, listen. I have to go to work, but come by my place again tonight. Just you, me, and movies. Deal?"

I lightly smile, looking back at him. "Deal."

He pulls me close and kisses my forehead. "Great. I love you." He says.

"Love you too." I respond, lightly blushing.

I return back to Alex's house later that night and open the unlocked door. I walk into the kitchen where a note resides.

~Sorry babe, had to run out for a few. Wait for me!~

I sigh, running a hand through my hair as I sit on the couch, waiting.

A couple of hours have passed, and I sigh, realizing that he never came.

He left me.

As soon as I am about to leave, the door opens, and stumbling in comes none other than my boyfriend, Alex. His brown hair is slightly unkempt and his green eyes are slightly dull.

"A-Alex?" I ask, standing up.

He turns his head to me, and immediately becomes angry. "You're not her. Where's my Ally?" He roughly asks, and my heart snaps.

"A-Alex, it's me, Caitlin. Your girlfriend?" I ask, walking to him.

"You're not her!" He slurs. "YOU'RE NOT HER!!!" He yells, grabbing a vase. My eyes widen as I slowly back away, until I bump into the couch. "You're not her." He says once again as he chucks the vase at me. I scream at the top of my lungs as pure pain envelopes me and I fall to the ground. I look at my right leg to see a large shard of glass and blood where skin once was.

I look back to see Alex pacing back and forth, and eventually run upstairs. After that, I passed out.

I sigh, running a hand through my hair.

"Caitlin?" Autumn asks from the doorway. "You took too long again."

A hint of a smile makes its way onto my lips. "But you're always there."
