I walk down the street for about ten minutes and land outside the hospital. I walk inside and go to Autumn's room, where a doctor lies in a chair outside her room.

"Doctor? Are you okay?" I ask, noticing the unconscious man, who just so happens to be my brother. "Ben? Are you okay?"

He slowly wakes up and I repeat the question. He smiles at me. "I'm perfectly fine; and so is Autumn." He stands.

"She is?!"

"Yes. The surgery was a success." He says, and I immediately pounce on him.

"Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" I yell, and he chuckles, holding me. I quickly realize how awkward this is and take a step back. "Erm, sorry." I say, holding both my hands in front of me.

"No need to be sorry, little sis." He responds, ruffling up my hair. "Go on in. She's sleeping right now."

I nod and walk inside. I sit next to a sleeping Autumn and wait for her to wake, which doesn't take long. "Cait?" She asks, eyes focusing on me.

"Fucks' sake, Aut. I thought you died!" I say, slapping her bedpost as it would seriously injure her if I hit her.

"I thought I died too." She jokes, a twinkle in her eye.

"Never do that again, Aut."

"No promises." She cheekily responds. "Where's the guy you were with yesterday?"

"Lachlan?" I ask.

"Yeah."

"At the sidemen's' place. I'm gonna have to stop by there in a little while." I reply.

"So... What are you going to do now?" She asks, pausing.

"I don't know." I sigh. "I want to be with you here while you recover, but I can't. I leave tomorrow for Australia. Lachlan's family comes in in three days, and I have to meet them."

She sighs, looking up. "Guess you got more important things to worry about."

"Autumn! What are you talking about?!" I scowl.

"You've got your life in Australia now. I'm not as important anymore." She nonchalantly responds.

"You are important to me!" I sincerely respond.

"But you still chose Lachlan over me. I understand; I probably would've done the same. Abandon your best friend that ruined your life and trust for a new best friend that will always be there for you; trust me, I understand. It's just hard to accept."

"Autumn, you'll still have a place in my heart, you know that?" I reply, tears starting to fall.

"I know. You'll always be my best friend, but you have your life and I have mine. I guess it just took me a while to realize." She pauses, but decides to continue. "You should go now."

"Aut?" I whisper, but she gives me a look, telling me to go. "I love you." I whisper, looking at my best friend before walking out the door and bumping into Ben.

"Listen, Caitlin. I want to talk. I want to explain why I left. You obviously didn't call so I decided to just come to you and say it." He seriously says. I look away, biting my lip and crossing my hands over my chest. "Cmon! Please, let me explain!" He begs, and I look at him. "Please, just give me a chance."

I bite my lip, considering my options. I sigh in defeat. "One chance."

He smiles at me. "Thank you."

"Nice car." I say, looking at the beaten up ford in front of me.
