The doorbell rings a couple days later; Lachlan is out with his friends so I decide to answer it (A/N: well, duh). A tall man with a brown beard and hair stands there, with a cap resting backwards on his head and holding a suitcase and headphones around his neck.
"Hi. I'm Robert Latsky, and you must be Caitlin." He says, and I nod, letting him in.
"Hello, Rob."
"Nice place." He says, looking around for a brief second.
"Thanks." I reply. "Let me try calling Lachlan; I'm sure he'll come right over." I say, starting to dial his all too familiar number.
"It's cool; he won't come back for a while." He says.
I raise a brow at him. "Lachlan does whatever I says he should do."
"Really?!" He says, baffled, and I nod, a smile on my face.
On three rings he picks up. "Yo, Lachlan. Get your lazy ass back to the apartment, now. Rob is here."
"... Got it." He responds, hanging up.
"See?" I turn to Rob.
"Wow. He never listens to me. Teach me your ways!" He begs, and I laugh.
~
"I'm here!" Lachlan calls ten minutes later."Cool!" Rob and I say at the same time, too engrossed in anime. Yes, he likes anime.
I hear a sigh from behind me. "Guess I should've known..." Lachlan mutters, plopping down in between us with a big bag of popcorn. "What're you guys watching?"
"Tokyo Ghoul." Rob and I say.
"Great. What's it about?" He asks, but I shush him, pressing a hand to his lips. He shuts up and I remove my hand.
"Ghouls in Tokyo." I respond, grabbing a handful of popcorn.
Lachlan and Rob chuckle and we watch the anime.
~
A couple more days have passed and Lachlan and Rob are out on the jetskis. I watch from the dock outside our place, feet in the water and laughing every so often when Rob splashes Lachlan. After a little while Lachlan comes over to me and abruptly turns, splashing water all over me."Lachlan Power!" I yell as he starts to drive away again, causing me to slightly laugh and watch as he zips back to Rob. An hour or two later Lachlan and Rob head my way again, this time parking alongside the dock. I stand up and watch as they harness them, my eyes TOTALLY NOT staring at Lachlan's toned back through his soaked shirt.
"I'm exhausted. What time is it?" Rob asks as I check the time on my phone, which miraculously stayed dry.
"Almost supper time." I respond, turning it off. We start heading back to the house as I contemplate on what to make for dinner.
"I think we could use some meat." Lachlan says, as if reading my thoughts.
"Well, perfect. You can grill up some chicken." I smile at him, and he nods in agreement.
"Do we have any?"
"Of course." I roll my eyes. Chicken is delicious. Rob opens the door and we walk inside, where I grab the chicken from the fridge, quickly prepare it and hand the plate to Lachlan. The three of us head back outside where Lachlan starts to grill. In ten minutes the food is ready so we head inside and eat.
"I'm going to crash. See you guys tomorrow." Rob says, putting his plate in the sink.
"Night!" Lachlan and I reply, me turning my head to wave to him.
Once Lachlan and I finish, we put our plates away. There is a minute of awkward silence until Lachlan looks outside, then looks back at me. "Wanna go jetskiing?"
I raise a brow. "You and Rob went jetskiing all day. You've got to be tired."
"Nope. Look outside." He says, holding the blinds. I walk towards him, slightly brushing his shoulder, and look outside.
"It's dark out. So...?" I ask, turning to him, our bodies suddenly a lot closer than before.
"Let's go for a late night jetski ride. Just you and me." He says. I hesitate, but he grabs my hand, already taking me outside. He undos one while I start to do the other, but he stops me. "Let's just use one?" He states, more of like a question. My breathing starts to speed up as I realize that he wants me to ride with him.
"Alright." I respond, walking over to him as he sits down. I slowly and carefully sit down behind him, hands at my sides.
"Don't worry, I won't bite." He whispers, grabbing both of my hands. My heart starts to beat faster as electric shocks take over my body. He puts both of my hands around his waist and lingers his hands for just a moment before revving the engine. "Hold on!" He says, taking off. My grip around his waist tightens, my chest pressed against his back and my head on his upper back as the cold embraces me. After a moment I look up, stars dancing the sky.
"Wowwww..." I whisper, entranced by the beauty of it all. I look behind us to see not only the trail left behind by the jetski, but the reflection of the sky. I rest my head on Lachlan's shoulder as I see wonders I never would've seen if I rode during day. "This is absolutely beautiful." I say. Lachlan murmurs something in response, but it's inaudible. "What did you say, Lachlan?" I curiously ask.
"Nothing, nothing." He responds, looking over his shoulder for a brief second before returning back.

He said, 'like you.'
