Forty Two

Once I'm ready, I grab my backpack for the day and head downstairs. "What took you so loooong?" Lachlan childishly drawls out.

"I'm a girl, Lachlan. We've been over this." I respond, rolling my eyes. I also add, "And this girl likes to wear makeup and make herself look good."

"You don't need makeup to make yourself look good." Lachlan responds.

"You're such a flirt." I reply, smiling and pushing past him.

"You love it." He teases, hugging me from behind.

"Ugh, I do." I respond, turning to face him. Without a second thought, I give him a quick kiss on the lips, pulling away once finished.

"Get back here." He says, pulling me towards his chest and full on kissing me. Shocked, I melt into the kiss, hands wrapping around his neck.

"Don't you want to go to the beach?" I remind him.

"BEAAACH!" He responds, scooping me up and running out the door.

"Lachlan!"

We arrive at the beach a few minutes later and Lachlan grabs my hand as we decide to walk along the beach.

"It's so peaceful. Good call, Lachy." I say after minutes of beautiful silence. I think we both really needed this.

"Thanks, babe." He replies, causing my cheeks to heat up.

"Woah, look!" I suddenly say, pointing to something in the water.

"What's that?" He asks.

"It looked like a fin! I wonder which one it is!" I respond.

After a minute or two, a bunch of fins appear, and the sea creatures jump out of the water. "Dolphins." Lachlan says.

"So adorable!" I squeal, snapping a couple pictures with my phone.

"Like you." Lachlan says, whisking me around so we're face to face. He kisses me lightly and I blush.

"W-wha-at? What was that for?"

"Being you." He says as I rest against his chest.

"Hmmmm..." I hum in response as we both look out at the ocean. "I love you." I whisper suddenly, and then blush once I realize I have said my thoughts out loud.

"What was that?" He asks, making me blush more.

"I love you." I say louder, looking up at his electric blue eyes that I have fallen in love with.

"I love you too." He responds, causing me to smile. I stand on my tiptoes and give him a passionate kiss. "What was that for?" He asks, smirking.

"Saying I love you." I respond.

"You're something special, you know that, Cait?" He says, flicking my forehead.

"Hey!" I yell as he starts to run back the way we came. I start laughing as he runs in slow motion in the sand, and I decide to join him. "Get back here!"

"Gotta catch me!" He yells back.

A burst of speed rushes into me and I start to get closer to him. And then I'm right behind him. I jump on his back and tackle him to the ground.

"Got you." I respond, smiling as Lachlan got a face full of sand.

"Yep, you got me." He says, turning so we're face to face.

"You got sand on your face." I giggle, using the bottom of my shirt to wipe it away.

"I wonder why." He pouts, and I giggle again. Once I'm finished wiping his face, he switches positions so now I'm below him. "Got you now." He seductively says, causing me to blush.

I wiggle out of his arms and take off to where we last left our stuff. "Not anymore!" I yell.

We arrive back at our stuff and we take our clothes off, revealing swimsuits beneath. We race each other to the ocean and Lachlan beats me. Curse his long legs.

We splash each other for a while, and then I decide to take a break. My eyes attract to a sign on a nearby dock.

Jet skis---- 15.00 for a day

"Lachlan! Let's go!" I drag him to the rental.

"We'd like a jet ski." Lachlan says to the man, who nods and helps us set it up. We get on the jet ski and take off.

"This is so cool!" I yell as we start to jump the waves. And they're a lot bigger than the ones we are both used to. I tighten my grip around him as we jump wave after wave, having too much fun. We stop after a while, the beach still in view. "You're the best, Lachlan." I sincerely say, hugging him.

"Thanks, babe. I'd do anything for you." He responds, turning around to kiss my forehead.

We arrive home a little while later and we order pizza. While waiting, I decide to blast some music. Smiling once my favorite song comes on, I grab Lachlan's hands and start to dance extremely crazy.

"You, you look as good as the day I met you." Lachlan terribly sings, and I blush as he twirls me.

"I forgot just why I left you, but it's okay." I add. "So baby pull me closer, in the backseat of your rover."

"That I know you can't afford, bite that tattoo on your shoulder." He says, pulling me closer to him.

"Pull the sheets right off the corner of the mattress that you stole~"

The doorbell rings, and we stare at each other. "PIZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!"

We devouring in less than a minute, and then continue singing and dancing for the rest of the night, occasionally sneaking a few kisses here and there.
