Harry - you gave the only kind of defeatist sigh you had left, rounding out the knot of your hair into a messy bun, tugging it loosely into the hair tie around four fingers, letting it snap back in place. You let your head down a little when you were done. You paced the hallway, watching the clock and the way it ticked over to midnight so slowly, groaning and tugging the strings of your hoodie a little tighter as you walked, rounding the corner into the living room.
"No, no," you muttered under your breath, changing the channels aimlessly, knocking every single one aside, tapping the remote down as the screen flickered from colour to colour, face to face. You heard a dull knock upstairs, a light tapping that made you knot your forehead, furrow the smooth skin up as you rose your body up, crossing the living room again.
"What the…" you breathed quietly, pacing the hallway. Light flickered from your bedroom door ajar. You bit your lip, dully thinking about what you were meant to do in case of a robbery. You reached the room, and pushed the door slowly, "wha…"
Harry turned, “ah, damn,” he blushed down sheepishly, “I didn’t get all the candles lit…”
"Harry…" you stepped into the room, candles alighting every surface, "what… what are you doing here? What… what is this?"
He leant close to you, from behind, his chest to your back so close that you could feel the calming pattern of a heart beat drumming, “I wanted to surprise you…” he murmured, pressing his lips to your neck, “I love you, babe…”
"It’s, like, midnight, though…" you gasped with the corners of your mouth leaning up by themselves, "and this is… this is…"
"It’s what you deserve, babe," he placed an open-mouthed kiss to your skin, grating a little with the tops of his teeth in place, "surprise…"
Liam - the rain pelted like arrows that lashed your windowpane. You scrunched your feet up a little tighter, on the couch in the living room. It all sounded so loud, and close by. You adjusted the volume on the television to battle the rain, storming and shimmying down drains outside, knocking wind backwards.
"Shit," you muttered when a knock on the door sounded out, your brow furrowing up into a concerning knot, "what the hell…"
Your bed socks dipped with the tips of your toes, as you stood up, blanket slipping from your figure. You crossed the living room, peering out at the rain lashing harder, storm overwhelming.
You dulled closer to the front door in the foyer, turning the cool metal of the doorknob, “who the hell…” you started, biting the curb of your own words when you saw him, “Liam…” you had to blink for a moment, “w-what are you doing here?”
He shook with a croaking throat, “can… can I come in?”
"Yeah," you breathed, ushering him inside, "but what…" you helped him out of a hoodie soaked to his skin, material sticking to the planes in his arms, "babe, what are you doing here?"
"I just…" he smirked a little and stopped you. The silence was interrupted by the wet slap of his hoodie as it hit the floor, "I missed you…"
"Liam," you gasped, "it’s pouring rain out there, and I’m pretty sure you have pneumonia or something. You should’ve called if you missed me. I can’t believe you came over here. Look at you, Liam! You’re freezing!"
He stopped the rest of your words, and got you to swallow what they tasted like when he kissed you. “I don’t care,” he whispered against them, “it’s worth it in the end.”
Louis - you turned over in bed, knocking your thoughts unconscious until they made a dream. A few strands of hair knocked by your eyes, a harsh buzzing by your thigh making you snap them open. You blinked a few times, ringing one hand up to your face to scrub your hair back, slipping it behind your ear as you sat up, groaning.
