I was feeling sadder than usual lately, so I knew I needed a huge distraction to keep my mind off of everything that happened. That was why I was driving to a party, hoping to get high and drunk, which would be the ultimate way to forget about everything. I couldn't wait.

Soon I parked my car near the house and got out. There were already tons of people at the party. Some were on the lawn, but most I could see through the windows were inside, dancing. Seeing the cups of beer in their hand, I grew excited and rushed to the house.

Once I entered, I was greeted by guys who nodded at me. I nodded back, keeping a straight face, and quickly made my way to the kitchen. There I walked over to the fridge and grabbed a beer.

But before I drank it, I paused and stared at the bottle in my hand. I rarely drank. Due to my dad being an alcoholic, I tended to avoid beer. But right now, I really needed it. So, I quickly uncapped it and took a swig of it.

Wanting to then smoke to completely clear my mind, I walked to the backyard and sat on the steps. There I pulled out my blunt and immediately began to smoke. I alternated between taking puffs and drinking until I was completely out of it. Then I decided to go back into a house and have a blast. I wanted to truly forget about everything and getting lost in a party was usually an effective way to do that.

I was dancing with some girl named Avril. Apparently she went to my school, but I had no memory of her at all. Admittedly I was wasted, so I didn't really remember anything at that moment.

"You know what?" Avril said, grinning as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "You're pretty hot."

"Am I now?" I said, grinning flirtatiously.

Avril moved closer and our bodies were pressed together as we danced. She was gorgeous, I had to admit. Chocolate hair, brown eyes, and sun-kissed skin was a stunning combo on her. But yet, I wasn't really feeling it. Unlike what I was into before, I didn't want to drown myself in her.

Avril ran her fingers through my hair and I closed my eyes. The touch was welcoming and it didn't make me feel alone, but for some reason it felt wrong. I felt like something wasn't right and I began to step back. But, Avril held onto me more tightly.

"Can I have a kiss?" she asked softly. "Please."

Usually I would've eagerly agreed immediately, but I suddenly thought of Hayley. Her face flashed before my mind and guilt filled me. But, I shouldn't be thinking of her. She meant nothing to me and I needed to forget her. So, I leaned forward and pressed my lips onto Avril's.

We began making out then, getting lost in the moment. From the way Avril was kissing me, I knew she was trying to forget something too. I wanted to ask if she was okay, but kissing each other like this was comforting, so I hoped she felt the same way.

Avril and I made out for a while, our lips devouring each other. We held onto each and in that moment, nothing mattered. I had completely erased any thought of the things that bothered me, which I was thankful of. I was about to move back and thank her, but then I was suddenly yanked back by someone.

I stumbled back and suddenly, a huge guy was standing before me. He was incredibly tall and muscular, almost double my size, and he was glaring at me. I stared at him, wondering what he wanted as he loomed over me.
