Thank god. It was a dream. I opened my eyes.

"She's awake!" A familiar voice said.

Justin stood over me. Reality check. I wasn't dreaming.

"Justin... What's going on?" I said looking up into his eyes. I realized I was in the back of an ambulance hooked up to fluids.

"You were shot Chris, we are on the way to the hospital right now."

What.

I could tell he has been crying.

"I'm so glad you are okay." He said pecking the top of my head.

I was in shock and had no clue what was going on.

"Where is Teresa? Is she okay?"

Justin licked his lips and heaved a sigh.

"I'm sorry, she didn't make it..." He said softly.

"What... No. Tell me you're kidding." I said. My eyes watered and I could feel the pit of my stomach growing weak.

"She got shot in the chest... And she lost a tremendous amount of blood." The nurse said as she doctored my wound.

Fuck. What... Have I caused.

"What about the lady that was in the library..." I asked coughing after.

"The police are investigating her. They arrested her as soon as they shot the other threat. She couldn't be trusted." Justin said holding my hand tightly.

"Are your fans okay?"

Justin curled in his lips. "Some of them are... I saved as many as I could." He said tearing up.

"I'm sorry Justin..." My voice cracked. I wrapped my arms around his neck and I could hear him sobbing.

This is breaking my heart. Right now, I wish I was dreaming but I know... I'm not.

"This isn't your fault. You couldn't save them all."

"I know but I watched it happen. I--I don't know what to feel right now. They were young... And they were there for me. I feel like shit." He said holding back his sobs.

"Listen to me, this is not your fault. You didn't have the gun, and you didn't kill them. They were here to support you, that man took their lives and he is the one to blame. Don't you dare blame yourself." I raised my voice.

Justin's lips crashed onto mine as I laid face up. My body was numb and I could barely feel anything. The nurse told me my arm was going to be okay. The bullet wasn't too deep.

I never thought in a million years I would ever get shot, but anything is possible right?

"I love you." Justin said to me softly. My stomach had butterflies inside.

Did he just...

I smiled at his words.

"I love you too." I responded.

"I know it's probably too soon to say it, but it felt like the right time." He said stroking my bristle.

"I wanted to say it last night, but I'm glad I saved it for right now." He added.

"We're here." The driver said to the nurse. She nodded and began to open the doors and push me out.

The light was bright and I closed my eyes as I felt my body being pushed along the hallway of a hospital. I could smell the hospital. I hate it.

Justin ran beside me.

"Hang in there Chris. I love you." His voice faded as he stood in the hallway watching me be rushed into an elevator to get to the examination room.
