The ride back to New York felt like forever, but we got home just in time for me to change into some comfortable clothes.
I wasn't in the best of moods, but tonight it's about Justin. His singles are both in the top ten of the iTunes chart and he is really happy and excited. I can't ruin that for him.
I didn't bother putting on anything fancy. I just slipped on a sweater with thick leggings and a thick jacket to keep me warm. My hair was in a loose bun with barely a drop of makeup on my face.
I probably looked like some creature from another planet, but I didn't care.
Justin wore the usual. Ripped jeans with an old looking T-shirt and hoodie to cover it. His hair was already back to its normal length before he shaved it the last time.
"Your hair is getting so long." I said rubbing my fingers through it.
"I know, I'm probably going to shave it again." He replied as he slid a beanie to cover his beautiful locks.
I poked out my bottom lip at his words.
"No, keep it please. I love running my fingers through it." I said looking up into his eyes.
"I'll think about it." He responded.
"Which always means yes, because I always get my way." I replied with a smile.
"That's true. Spoiled brat." He said shaking his head.
"So and?"
"Let's go." He said changing the subject to rush me.
"You're always in such a hurry."
He grabbed me by the hand and walked downstairs. Mom and dad were sitting at the dinner table.
"Be careful out there." Mom said to us as we opened the door.
"Don't worry Mr. and Mrs. Benson, we are going to be just fine." Justin said smiling.
We walked outside into the cool air.
"Where is Hugo for the night?" I asked curiously.
"He decided to stay back in LA, I told him I would be fine out here and that he could have the day off."
"Don't you have more than one bodyguard?" I knitted my eyebrows together.
"Yeah, but I don't need them. I'm fine. If I do end up needing someone, then I will call Scooter. He is New York at the moment as well." Justin replied.
"Really? Why aren't we celebrating with him then?"
"He's with Yael, we might meet up with him sometime tonight."
"Okay, but what about the hotel we are staying at? Did you ever find one specifically?"
"Chris, what's with the twenty questions?" He said looking down at me.
"Sorry, I'm just trying to keep my mind off of the case."
I always ask so many questions whenever I'm trying to not think about something that bugs me. It gets really annoying.
"The case is over with for now. Just think about me and you and all the fun we are going to have tonight." He pecked my hand with his lips and then swung our arms as we walked.
"I'll try." I replied knowing my thoughts were going to do the opposite of what he said.
It's not like I wanted to think about the case, I didn't. If I could think about something else I would, but it's hard whenever you don't know the truth about something and you just want to figure it out, but you can't.
