I had won but he still wouldn't let me. I clearly could shoot but it was 'too dangerous'.
"I don't want you alone," he said, "come back home with me. Just until this blows over."
"Not like my parents would care," I shook, "what about Chelsea?"
"She can come with me," Gale smiled.
Chelsea quickly agreed.
"What about your mom?" I asked, "she wouldn't allow that."
"I'll tell her I'll be at your house for a while," I said, "she won't care."
I nodded.
"Come on," Jace said, "come with me. Let's go get your things."
I nodded and we left. We were driving.
"So would you care to explain why you were out of school in the first place?" He asked.
"I got into a fight," I looked down.
"With who?" He turned to me.
"That bitch Angela," I said, "dude I kicked her ass. I don't give a fuck. I'm out for a week maybe two depending on how bad she's hurt."
"What'd you do?" He asked.
"I walked in and she mocked me because I had a slip up yesterday so I pulled her out of her chair and hit her in between the eyes. She blacked out and probably has a broken nose," I said.
"Seriously?" He asked.
"She thought she could be a bitch," I shrugged, "so I had to put her pathetic ass in place."
He laughed, "where'd you go?"
"Well you see," I said, "I was going out to the car and I told Chelsea. She ditched and came with me. We went to the park and as we were walking those men had came from behind."
My heart started racing and I got shaky.
"They put bags over our heads," tears came, "I kicked one of them and took the bag off. They grabbed my neck and threw me into a tree. Oh my god."
I lifted up my shirt to see the cut that had dried blood all over it. The tears fell.
"We're almost there," he said, "just relax ok? I'll get that taken care of when we get to my house. You can't go in yours looking all upset and worried. They won't let you leave."
I nodded and wiped my face, "they cut me. I screamed and by then Chelsea was already in the van. I got angry and started blurting out insults and they hit me. They tied my hands and ankles before putting the bag over my head. I felt something hard hit me and that's all I remember until you saved me."
He grabbed my hands and pressed his lips onto it.
"I won't let it happen again," he said, "I refuse to let that happen."
I smirked and he intertwined our fingers. I gave him directions to my house and we pulled in. I walked up to the door and hesitated. There was screaming on the inside. I balled my fists and opened the door. By then Jace had gotten out and was walking towards me.
"Are you serious!" I screamed, "why can't you guys just be like normal fucking parents! All you do is fight! You don't even care! You never ask me how my day is! You probably didn't even notice that I've been gone for two days! You don't even care that I'm in danger do you?! Oh wait how would you even fucking know! All you do is fight!! I'm leaving!"
I ran upstairs and heard footsteps coming behind me. I slammed my door and grabbed a bag. I put clothes, toothbrush and paste, makeup and straightener. My chargers and headphones. Then some miscellaneous things. My door opened and my dad was standing there.
"Who are you talking to?" He asked.
"I'm talking to the both of you!" I snapped, "hell you don't even know I smoke!"
I started laughing and pushed past him. I walked down the stairs and saw Jace standing in the doorway. My mom was in the kitchen.
"I'm going with him," I said, "until shit blows over. I trust him to protect me more than my own parents. You don't really care anyways. Probably won't care if I died."
I walked out and slammed the door behind me. Jace stood there looking at me.
"Mind to tell me what happened?" He asked.
"My parents suck," I said, "let's go."
He took my bag and put it in his car. I sat down and we were on our way. My parents were blowing up my phone and I was just ignoring. They were apologizing and what not. Sucks not to care, they never really have. I leaned my head back and soon fell asleep.

"Hey beautiful," he whispered, "come on. I'll carry you in. We're home and I'll get you all fixed up ok?"
I nodded and he picked me up. He slowly took me out of the car. My stomach hurt at the thought of the cut. He unlocked the door and took me upstairs. His entire room was black. The walls, carpet, bed sheets, blinds, everything. He laid me on the bed and turned on a light. The room lit up and he summed it.
He walked into another room and came back with alcohol, a rag, gauze and tape.
"It'll hurt," he pleaded, "are you ready?"
"Always am," I said.
He poured it over the cut and I held onto the sheets tightly. I let out a slight moan.
"I know," he whispered, "I know. It'll be ok. Almost done. This is the last time ok?"
I nodded and he allowed me to grab his hand. He poured it over and I squeezed. He pulled away.
"God damn," he said, "why don't you just break my hand?"
"I like you too much," I chuckled.
"Jesus you're such a smart ass," he laughed.
I nodded. He wiped the blood and alcohol away before applying the gauze. He taped it in place. I sat up and he put everything away. I stood and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my hair and teeth before taking off my makeup. I walked back out and there he was. Shirtless with sweat pants on. My jaw just about dropped. He looked like a model.
"Hey," he laughed, "why you look like you're about to kill me?"
"Nothing," I laughed, "just thinking."
"Well do that tomorrow," he smiled, "come lay down and get some sleep."
I smiled and walked over to him. I laid down and he gently pulled me to him. He wrapped his arms around me and placed a kiss on the back of my neck. It felt good to be with him. I felt so safe and sound. The muscles in his arms contracted even when he was asleep. I turned and looked at him. I brushed my hand along his cheek.
"Thank you for everything," I whispered.
I gently placed a kiss on his lips and looked at him. He was beautiful, both awake and asleep. I'm just scared. Not that he won't save me but that he'll find someone else and kick me out. That he won't care about me anymore. I can't do that. That would literally be terrible. I have to stop thinking. I need to go to sleep.
