Chapter 62

JACE POV!!!!

I saw that she was high. I knew it was weed and I didn't want her doing that. I took it and basically threw it out. She was pissed and left me on the rooftop. I ran my fingers through my hair.

"God dammit!" I snapped.

I'll wait till the end of school then. I just sat here and waited for the last bell of the day. I went to the staircase and waited at the bottom along the wall. Everyone was gone and I heard her heels. I grabbed her arm and pulled her to me. I pressed my lips to hers.

"Sorry," I looked down, "that's what I wanted to do."

I turned and walked away. My head was down. I probably shouldn't have done that...fuck.

"Jace!" She yelled, "wait!"

I stopped and heard footsteps behind me. I heard something drop and turned around. She jumped and I caught her. She had her arms wrapped around me. I smiled.

"I'm sorry," I sighed, "I shouldn't have done that. I was expecting a smack to the face."

She looked at me and our eyes locked. She removed her hands from my neck and shoulders. She set them on my cheeks.

"Don't be sorry," she shook.

"Why?" I asked, "I shouldn't have done that."

"But it's ok," she smiled.

I set her down and she looked at me. I looked behind her and saw her shoes and bag on the floor. I started laughing and she chuckled. I looked back at her and our eyes locked once more.

"Hey!" Someone yelled, "what the hell are you doing!"

She turned around and stood in front of me. I clenched my fists to see Aaron walking towards me and him. She set her hands over mine.

"Relax," she whispered, "I'll handle it."

I exhaled and relaxed my hands. She walked towards him and set her hands on his shoulders.

"What are you doing with him!" Aaron yelled.

"Kissing him!" She snapped, "you won't do anything about it! Leave!"

"We are together!" He snapped at her again.

By now I was started to get angry. I kept my cool though and crossed my arms.

"No!" She yelled, "we aren't! You left me! Now leave me alone!"

He pushed her to the ground.

"Hey!" I snapped, "don't touch her like that!"

He walked over to me and I swung my arm. My fist connected with his jaw. He fell to the ground and his eyes were shut. I walked over to Lola who was standing up.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah," she sighed, "I'm ok."

I tucked her hair behind her ear and turned around. Aaron was back up on his feet. I started to go towards him and she grabbed my hand.

"No," she shook, "if he hits me then have at it. All he did was push. I'm ok. Let me..."

She looked at me and her eyes melted my heart. Her attention snapped to Aaron who was walking towards me. She got in front of me quickly. She put her hand up and it hit his chest. He stopped.

"Get your hand off of me," he grabbed her wrist.

I moved towards him and she stopped me. She took her wrist away from his grip.

"Leave Aaron," she said.

"No!" He snapped, "you come with me."

"I'm not coming with you," she shook.

She lifted his hand and went to hit her. I stuck my arm in front of her and and caught his hand. She didn't flinch or even blink. It's like she knew I would do that.

"Wait," she whispered.

I felt her body tense up and looked at her other hand. It was in a fist. I grabbed it and bent down into her ear.

"Let me handle it," I whispered.

She took her hand away from me and I heard her hit him. I watched him fall to the ground. She grabbed her things and walked back over to him.

"I told you not to mess with me!" She snapped.

She walked away and I ran after her.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said, "I'm fine."

I gently grabbed her wrist in the parking lot. She stopped and turned around.

"It's over," I shook.

Her heart beat got quicker as did her pulse. I looked into her eyes which were filled with worry and hurt.

"Him," I said, "he's over."

The relief filled her as she exhaled. I chuckled and brought her into a hug. Her arms hit my shoulders and she looked into my eyes. I went to kiss her and she moved her head. She laughed and ran off to her car. She got in and locked the doors. She rolled down her window a little bit.

"This again?" I laughed, "come on."

"Yup," she smirked.

She put her car in reverse and sped off. I ran to my truck and went after her.

"Alright," I smirked, "where'd you go?"
