No one's pOV

The steady, faint beeping continued to fill the empty room. It was the only thing that was heard. Not a single creak from the bed, not even a voice was spoken. Melanie laid there completely lifeless. The energy was drained from her body but she aching. The horrible pain she felt in her chest was hurting her.

Everyone in the waiting room had just come back from Melanie's room but they were quiet as well. No one said a word. They felt bad. For Melanie. She didn't say a word to them when they came in. Not to be rude or disrespectful, but what was she supposed to say? She was thankful to have them there for her but she couldn't speak. She wasn't even able to hold onto Alana's hand as they surrounded her bed. She simply stared blankly at the white wall while tears silently fell from her emotionless eyes.

Justin, on the other hand, sat on the cold, white floor with his head buried in his arms. His eyes were closed, trying to prevent his tears from escaping. It was useless though. He placed himself right outside of Melanie's door. Waiting. Just waiting for a single call from her if she ever needed anything, so that he would be the first to help her. Even though she made it clear she wanted nothing to do with him.

The nurses and doctors would occasionally check up on everyone, only to receive a faint smile or a distant nod. It was as if everything was dead.

Everything from the outside was a different story. The fans were still screaming, cameras were flashing, news helicopters soared through the sky to try to capture this crazy moment, and the cops continued to try to tame the crowd, only to make it worst by using their sirens, blow horns, etc. It's been like this for hours.

"Mr. Bieber?" A sweet voice spoke, interrupting the dead silence that engulfed Justin in the hallway.

He instantly looked up, his dull, swollen eyes meeting Lilian. "Yeah?" His raspy voice spoke softly.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you but I have to get inside to check up on Melanie." She kindly told him.

He cleared his throat and slowly rose up, the pain on his back became noticeable. "Sorry." He spoke before moving aside.

"Don't worry about it hun." She smiled as she grasped onto the doorknob. She pushed the door open and Justin peeked in the room but disappointment rushed through his body when the curtain blocked his view. The door shut and he was by himself again.

He prompt himself up against the wall, waiting for her to return to ask her how Melanie was doing. Losing 2 babies was horrible enough, but having his wife hate him was unbearable. He's been beating himself up ever since Melanie kicked him out and when the realization struck him. He was a complete asshole to her and it's his fault why she was in there. His mind couldn't seem to stop thinking about her and it was killing him, knowing she didn't want him in there with her right now.

It's been a few minutes since Lilian went in and Justin quickly began to grow worried. Why was she taking so long? Is something wrong? He immediately thought. He was so paranoid that he didn't know that she's only been in there for 4 minutes.

The longer he waited, the more he grew anxious. The door suddenly opened slowly and he was ready to pounce up. He pushed himself away from the wall when Lilian came into view again. In the middle of shutting the door, he wasted no time. "How is she?" He said nervously.

She gave him a smile. "She's okay." She told him. "I just gave her another set of pain killers. She said she isn't sore anymore from the surgery so that's good."

Her words comforted Justin. His demeanor changed and he sighed in relief. "Alright." He let out. "When can she go home?"

"Probably tonight." She retorted. "Maybe a little sooner than that."
