The loud laughter and shrieks of joy filled the ears of a very irritated and white-haired man that stood in front of the room. He stared at the students with annoyance that made it seem like he was ready to kill each and every one of them. His polo was tucked in tightly in his khakis, which we were pulled all the way up in the middle of his stomach that dared to come out of his shirt.
The students were scattered around the room. Some were sitting on the tables, couples were making out in the back, technology was used by almost every one of them, and several were throwing things in the air.
Through the rowdy noise and clutter, the sound of the door opening didn't catch anyone's attention, nor was it even heard as a slim figured slipped in. Her brown hair was pulled back and stopped at her mid back. Her clean, white shoes stood on the dirty classroom floor while her jeans complimented her perfectly long legs. And her top? A simple sweater.
She had heard the noise from outside of the room but once that door opened, it magnified so much more, making her cringe her face at the defeaning noise for just a second until she searched the room for the teacher. However, as she searched the room, she was only able to observe what was happening. The only thing she questioned was if they were really high school students. Because they certainly didn't act like it. Suddenly, a small gasp escaped her lips when she was almost knocked over by a boy with long golden hair.
"Oh, sorry." He laughed and continued his shenanigans, not even sincere with his apology.
The little action brought her back to reality when she finally saw the grumpy old man standing in the front of the room still with his arms crossed. His face was frowning but once he turned and caught her gaze, it all disappeared. She quickly reacted and began walking towards him, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as she walked in front of the class.
"Hello." She said but it turned out to be a small mumble to him, due to the loud noise.
He simply instructed her to follow him to the corner of the class, next to his desk. "You're the freshman attending this class, right?" He questioned.
She nodded. "Yes. I was told to have you sign this too?" It came out as a question as she took out the neatly folded paper from the pocket in front of her sweater.
"Yes. I'll do that right now." He took it from her and went to his desk to search for a pen while she stood there awkwardly. A couple of students had finally noticed her but that only made her even more nervous, making her bite her lip. She didn't know what to do as they began to whisper to each other with their eyes locking on her. "Here you go, Melanie. I'm Mr. Madden." He said as he suddenly smiled. It was warm and comforting. She smiled back. "There should be a free seat here somewhere... oh. Over there should be nice."
She followed his direction to where he had pointed and noticed a couple making out right next to an open seat. She let an inaudible sigh and walked over to the seat while managing not to trip over anything. She tried her best to avoid them as she sat but the girl who sat next to her kept leaning back and touching her in the process of lip locking with the guy in front of her.
She was disgusted, that's for sure. She wanted nothing more to do but to get out of there already and this was only her first period. She was officially screwed.
All of a sudden, holes were digging at the side of her face making her turn slightly where she saw a group of kids. They were the calmest out of everyone in the room but they were still sitting on the tables and talking loudly.
She noticed them pointing and staring at her but once she met their gazes, all of that stopped in an instant.
"Hey." One of the guys had said to her. Or well, she thought. She didn't know who it was until he leaned forward, showing his face. "Kyle!" He shouted.
