Author's Note + Poem: If You Say So

Hi! If you get to read this part.. WOW! I want to say a big THANK YOU! You've made it this far. Thank you thank you so much for reading this story. :))

This whole story is inspired by the poem I made last 2010. Here's the poem (if you get to call it a poem, well I just always write a free poem), I just want to share it. Although may mga binago ako sa story compared sa poem na 'to. :) My inspiration for this poem? Well, meron din. Haha I know hindi na natapos ang dami ng inspirations ko. This poem is really inspired by the movie If Only. If napanuod niyo na, medyo related ung story, right? Super iyak kasi ginawa ko dun sa movie na un dati. Nagandahan ako so I made it into a poem, story and I even got a chance to sketch something because of that. Ang galing lang kasi fully inspired pa ako ng mga panahon na yan. Haha :) The drawing's on the side. And sorry for the errors. Bata pa ako ng sinulat ko yan and hindi ko na inedit. Haha :))

If You Say So

Whenever I closed my eyes and think of it

Why did I always found my tears falling down on my cheeks?

Can’t even stop myself from crying out the anguish inside

Even though it’s not the same, I know that it hurts

Back in the days of the past, I’ve watched different movies

I’ve read those heartbreaking books in time

Adoring how great the story is, it felt something inside

Something that I did not know and still searching for that right answer

A man came into me one day, held out a hand and comforted me

You’re the only one who set my pains aside

You made me feel how happy I can be in my life

The time passed by and everything came into a blur

You gave me a necklace with different symbols of mine

It has a note, you know how much I love music

You forced me to sing on my birthday in front of the crowd

It’s a surprise and I was really surprised by that

Even though I was afraid, you’re there, watching me with a smile

It has an earth, you know that I dream of travelling the world

When you came into my life, I am holding on to that dream with you

It has a dog, you gave me a cute one on our day

You said it will always protect me from everything

Asking what it’s for because you’re already here with me

You said, in case you’ll be gone and my eyes suddenly saddened

You just smiled at me and asked for its name

I named him Singer because you always sing into my heart

It has a dolphin and I know that you treasure it, too

That perfect day in the beach when you showed me how much you love me

You knew I can’t swim but still you’re so childish

You pulled me towards the sea and splashed the water to me

It has a heart, this I will never forget

I stared into your eyes as you said it to me

You said it’s a heart… your heart, and it’s mine now

Tears filled my eyes and I said nothing

For all you’ve done to me those days, my words were not enough

Will never be enough to show how much I thank God

You’ve came into my life and I never expected something like this

Before, I was just dreaming of someone who’s really meant for me

You are not perfect, no one is

But for me, you’ll always be the perfect man in my life

You brought me to a place I’d never expected

There you go again, full of surprises

We sat under a tree and looked at the sky

You told me, you thank me for everything

That I came into your life and brightened up everything

I watched the fading sun, it’s already twilight

I laid my head to your shoulder and you pulled me closer to you

I saw the sea in the distance and can’t hide the amusement in my face

You gazed at me as if seeing only my eyes

You closed your eyes and kissed my forehead

I closed my eyes, too, remembering this moment

You leaned back and brushed your soft hand to my cheek

I pressed my cheek to your hand and whispered your name

As the tears fell down from your eyes, I wondered what you were thinking

I did not questioned you, you answered me with your warm smile

You told me the words that would always remain in my heart

You uttered these sweetest words, “Thank you for everything.

Thank you for the time I’ve spent with you.

Those are the most precious times of my life.

You taught me how to love.

I love you more than anything else.”

I cannot stop myself from crying so hard

I hugged you so tight as if there would be no tomorrow

It’s the sincerest words I’ve ever heard from you

The only thing I’ve responded, “I love you, too.

You’ll always be the only man I ever will.”

You kissed my hair gently and held my left hand

Nothing can replace the joy I felt inside, wanting this very moment of ours

I closed my eyes and rested every worries aside

What I knew was you’re here with me, hoping that we’ll stay like this forever

When I woke up, I cried harder, feeling the ache in my heart

That’s the only time I found out that everything was gone

The tree, the sky, the sun, the sea

Most of all, you’re not here right now, holding me in your arms

It was just a dream, a dream embedded in my soul

I’ve found out the answer for the very first time

You’ve once made me feel special, you are the answer for everything

You, until now, the one I’ve been waiting for to come back

I held my chest with both my hands, closed my eyes and felt a necklace

I’ll never let go of your heart just as you’ve promised before

And I know, no matter what I do… you’ll always be the one.
