Ali's POV
My heart thumps quickly as flashbacks of the first moments I had come here, when he dropped me off on the island.
I stumble backwards, my breath hitches and it's hard to breathe. Scott stares at me with concern, he grabs my arm gently, which is helping me stand.
"Ali? Are you okay?" He hunches over to look into my eyes. " Ali, sweetheart, what's wrong, answer me."
"He wants me." I mumble quietly, my voice shook, eyes were wide with fear and tears. Scott pulls me closer trying to hear what I said.
"Ali, who wants you?" He questioned, the more I kept quiet the more worried Scott looks. I couldn't speak and I couldn't control myself. I walk backwards, Scott's hand stops me but I shake him off, I fall backwards until my back hits the wall. I cover my head with my hands as all my fears escape along with my tears. My body slides down the wall until I sit down on the ground, shaking.
"He's going to hurt everyone, he wants to use me." I cry out loud. Scott kneels near me trying to calm me.
"Allison, breath, you're safe with me." He assures, he tries to comfort me but I push him away, but he still comes back. "Allison! No one is here but you and me. Please try to breathe, calm down."
The shadow wants me for something, to use me. He's going to hurt everyone in the process. I shake my head, my tears fall down my cheeks like waterfalls. That's why he brought me here, I'm just some pawn.
In utter frustration, Scott grabs me and pulls me closer to him. He hold me in a tight hug, I try desperately to push him away but he was stronger than me. He didn't hurt me, I was having some sort of attack and having him hug me so tightly is not working.
"Stop." I manage to say still sobbing, but he ignores me and continues to hold onto me. After a while I give up trying to push away, my breathing and my heart stopped racing. But I continued to sob, Scott patiently rub the back of my head and whispered in my ear.
"Allison find 5 things you can see." I continue to cry aloud as I did as told. The chairs, lights, roots, markings on the walls, and my strands of hair. I nod once I was done.
"Now find 4 things you can touch." He calmly says, still holding me in place, I did as told, my ragged breaths stop as all my attention is to finding the four things, tears still streamed down my face. Once again I nod when done.
"Very good, now find 3 things you can hear, and 2 things you can smell." He rubbed my back, as I closed my eyes to listen and smell. I hear his breathing, my own breathing, and the wall seemed to make a twinkling sound from the pixie dust. I smell the oak wood from the walls, and I smell Scott, who smells like sweet soap and some dirt.
He pulls away and looks into my eyes with a big smile on his face. "Very good Ali now one more."
I nod looking into his green eyes, his hand rises to my face.
"Find 1 thing you can taste." He lowers his head to mine, his lips touching my own. His lips danced with mine, and all I could taste was him.
Our kiss last for about 30 seconds before pulling back.
His arms relaxed still holding me, I relaxed my shoulders and I wrapped my arms around his body, my head rested on his chest. I saw him grin happily before, my blushed face hid.
"Allison are you calm now?" Scott asked me quietly, I nod in reply. He pushes me away to look at me, I was too embarrassed so I look towards the ground. He takes his hand and gently nudges my head up to look at him.
"Allison what did you mean when you said he wants you?" He questions in a serious tone, I look away, I breath in courage and exhale the truth.
"The shadow does.." I reply truthfully, I clench my fits gently.
"What do you mean?" He continues, I look farther away from him, I was afraid to look at him.
"He wants to use me for something, he told me. He didn't tell me details, just that he needs me for a plan of some kind." I answered, I breathe out a sigh.
"Allison look at me please." He orders in a calm sweet tone. I hesitantly obey, I look into his green eyes filled with worry. "When did he tell you this?"
"Remember when I went missing and you and Peter went to go look for me? It's when you hurt your shoulder." I stuttered through my words, I had to look away. I saw him nod and hum a reply.
"I lied when I said I didn't remember anything that happened that night" Scott stared at me in disbelief. "I was scared that if I told anyone, they'd tell Peter and then he'd kick me out of camp."
"Allison.." Scott started, but I interrupted him with an explanation.
"During the bonfire it felt like I was in a trance, my body moved on it own. I couldn't control it to go back to camp. I went straight to where the shadow was. He manipulated me, and said that he needed me for something. I had told him that I didn't want to do it, and he became angry and chased me right to you guys. I was exhausted when I ran into Peter. I didn't know why you guys were so frantic I wasn't gone that long." I took a deep breath, a weight on my shoulders disappeared. I look up at Scott shyly, he was surely surprised. He grabs my hand and holds onto it, and gives me a weak smile.
"Allison." He says quietly. I don't answer I squeeze his hand instead. "Thank you for telling me this."
"Don't you have questions?" I looked up at him. He shakes his head.
"I won't ask if you don't want me to." He says sweetly, I smile with gratitude, tears of joy appear in my eyes.
"Stop crying, you'll get dehydrated." Scott laughed wiping my tear away with his thumb. He gets up and gives me a hand to stand. "I think we should head back to camp, people are probably wondering where we are."
I nod in agreement and we head up the stairs in silence. My hand was still holding onto Scott's, I didn't pull away; it made me feel safe. His hand moved, right when I thought he was pulling away he was just moving his hand to a comfortable hand holding position, I smile at the ground.
"Hey Scott?" I ask, he looks over his shoulder as an answer. "Are you going to tell Peter about what I told you?"
My smile disappears as I ask it, my fear come crawling back up my spine. Scott stops and pulls me into a hug, and smiles down at me. "Sadly I do, but I won't let anything bad happen to you. If I know Peter, he won't kick anyone out of camp, he's most likely keep you in your tent most of the day to keep you safe. I'd have someone with you at all times."
"You won't let anything happen to me?" I ask him, he nods and grins at me.
"I promise I won't." He pulled me closer, I thought of an idea.
"Would you teach me how to defend myself?" I ask him politely. He looks at me like in surprise, but he smiles and takes my hand and starts up the stairway again.
"I'm not a very good teacher, but I can surely try." We finally get to the top of the stairs and walk towards camp.
As we walked to camp we let go of each other's hands. My anxiety was coming up again, my dream, I forgot to tell Scott about my nightmare.
"Hey Scott?" I quietly ask, I make sure I look away. He glances at me over his shoulder. "My nightmare last night.."
"You don't need to tell me about it. It's ok." He assured me, he stops and looks down at me and sweetly smiles. I shake my head.
"No, I need to tell you my nightmare." I look down at my shoes. "It was about the shadow."
He straightens his back and his smile disappears. "Is it ok if we talk to Peter about this? Just the three of us alone. No one else will be listening."
I feel a gut wrenching feeling in the pit of my stomach. My hands start to shake, Scott pats my head laughing softly.
"It'll be okay, don't worry, nothing bad will happen." He nods, and we continue walking to camp saying nothing else.
Once we get back, Aaron runs up to me with a big smile. "I heard you saw the tree. How was it?" He asked, the smile slowly vanishes after I stare at him for a bit. I blink a few times, and give him a smile, a fake smile.
"Yea it was great, a very nice place." I glance at Scott and Peter talking, my hands continue to shake, but I hide them behind my back. I see Scott motioning me to go over there. I give Aaron a hug and walk over to Scott and Peter.
Peter has his arms crossed across his chest with a frown on his face. Scotts eyes are filled with worry, he puts an arm on my shoulder. I notice Peter's frown vanish into a confused look.
"Peter, Ali needs to tell you something. Perhaps somewhere in private?" Scotts flashed a comforting smile at me, Peter silently questions our request, and glances his gaze on me. I look down at the ground, feeling ashamed.
"Fine, my tent." He points behind him, walking slightly backwards. He turns and walks toward the tent, with us following behind. I hold my stomach with my arms, with the feeling of throwing up. I was so scared. Scott apparently sees my discomfort and grabs my arm and pulls it down to hold my hand. He flashes me a comforting smile once again. I squeeze his hand tightly as we walk into Peters tent.
Peter stops and turns to us, with a questioning look.
"What do you need to tell me, Ali?" He stares me down, the feeling of bile rises up my throat. Scott puts his hand on my shoulder, and speaks up.
"She had told me something about the shadow." The bile slowly goes back down as Peter's attention is turned to Scott. I silently thank him in my mind, a sigh of relief leaves my lips quietly.
"She said he talked with her a while ago, saying he had something for her to do. She did decline, which made him angry." Scott summed it up.
"When was this?" Peter glanced at me, then back at Scott.
"She said it was when she went missing during the Bon fire." Scott explained. Peter scratches his chin with his hand. He looks at me with his frown, he would look nicer without that frown.
"I thought you said you didn't remember anything? Now you suddenly remember?" He questioned with his frown, hands shake, a flashback of my nightmare when the shadow turns around to face me. My eyes become moist, I can't seem to find my voice. Scott stand slightly in front of me noticing my uncomfortable aura.
"Yo, Peter take it easy. She's scared enough, she thought it would be a good idea to tell you." Scott explained, he glanced at me shooting me a wink. "She was scared to tell you, and now she's brave enough to tell about it."
Peter relaxes, and backs up a bit. He sighs, and closes his eyes. "What did he want you to do Ali?" He spoke calmly.
"I-I don't know. He didn't tell me. All I remember was that he said he wanted me to do something that would help him. I said no, he looked at me in this scary way so I ran." I explained, stuttering a bit. I look up at Peter, his hand on his chin, his face had softened a bit, I glance over at Scott who's still holding my hand.
"And about my nightmare last night." I continue, with my head down, I feel all the eyes on me. I take a breath of courage and look up at them. "The shadow looked like you Peter, slightly. He killed everyone, even you, and... Aaron. Then he killed me."
