"Allison, run, now!" I scream at her, she doesn't budge, stuck in fear. I try to get up, pain shoots down my body, I grind down my teeth tightly.
"Get her boys." The first pirate says lowly. The other two come forward, towards Allison.
Now she realizes she's in danger she grabs ahold of my knife, not taking it out yet. They inch closer, faster and faster. Once they reach her she stabs one man in the gut with the knife, the pirate falls to the ground slowly, leaving the remaining two horrified. Another pirate grabs ahold of her from behind. She pivots hard and fast, loosening his grip, she quickly elbows him in the stomach, she turns and punches his throat with all her might. He falls to the ground, unable to breath, leaving the last pirate in shock.
Impressed, I smirk at her quick reflexes. I could see she was shaking intensely, her eyes were wide open. The last pirate sprints for her, she didn't know what to do. She lets out a cry of fear and holds her hands above her head as protection. Inches from her an arrow hit the pirates head, he fell to the ground dead.
"Ha! BULLSEYE!" A familiar voice echoed through the trees. Allison looked up and sighed a breath of relief, and laid on the ground, her head fell back.
Nate, Levi, Charlie, and Chris rush to us.
"My god, are you guys okay?" Charlie questions, he couches beside me, setting his bow on the ground.
"Peter is hurt badly, we need to get him back to camp, and quick." Allison stands with the help of Nate.
"Thats at least half a day away sweetheart." Chris tells her, I look up at him harshly. He lifts up my shirt to look at the painful bulge in my side. In horror he looks up at me, "Peter, how did you get this?"
"Hell if I know." I lay my head back.
"He can't get up, how are we going to get him back to camp?" Allison questions, her voice shakes with worry. The boys shake their heads, Charlie looks down at me.
"Can you stand or even walk?" He urged, taking a hold of my arm.
"I can try, I won't promise I'll be able to." Charlie and Chris throw my arms around both shoulders, pain shoots through my body, they lift me up and I shout out.
Once I'm fully standing I felt better, I was still in immense pain, I close my eyes tightly leaning into one of the boys.
"Can you stand on your own, or do you need help?" Charlie quietly asks.
I nod, "Let me try to stand on my own."
They hesitantly let me stand on my own, I breathe in and out and try to walk. I walk perfectly fine, the pain never bothered me as much as before.
"Okay, I think we should head out and get in some distance before nightfall." I heard Nate say.
"Where are the others? Are they safe?" I ask him.
"Andrew, John, and Aaron are safe in camp. Everyone else went to look for you two." Nate answered, "Only Scott was hurt, he's fine now, he's out searching with us."
"I'm guessing you all split up?" Allison assumed, looking between us four boys.
"Yea, to find you faster." Chris looked back at her, he walked slowly beside me. "Nate and Levi came over here the same time Charlie and I got to you."
"Allison, are you hurt anywhere?" Levi asks her, walking beside her.
"Besides being achy, I'm perfectly fine." She answers, I glanced back at her, I saw her hugging herself.
Hours went by, we took breaks every half an hour because of me. The longer we walked the harder it was to keep going. I wanted the get to camp as soon as possible.
"Peter?" Allison's small voice called, I hum in answer. "Are you sure you want to keep going? We could stop for the night early."
"At the rate we're going, we'll be home tomorrow." Chris tells us.
"Exactly, we need to get home soon." I tell everyone.
"Peter, I think Ali is right, we should set up camp. The sun is going to go down soon anyway." Nate advised, I sigh and look back at the tired group.
"Okay. But tomorrow, we need to try and take less breaks." I tell them, the boys nod their head, Allison crosses her arms and frowns.
Soon we find a clearing to set up camp. As the night went by, it got colder, it made me feel more achy. We had some much needed dinner, it helped with the Achiness.
"Chris, Charlie, Levi and I will take turns on night watch. You two need to get your rest for tomorrow." Nate ordered, I was too exhausted to argue with him, I nod.
They get the fire going, as soon as Allison lays down she's asleep. I soon fall asleep later that night.
Within the night I wake up, I felt tied down by my arm. Sleepily I look to my left and there she was, sleeping soundly next to me. Probably cold, she came to sleep next to my warm feverish body.
I was too tired to question her, I fell back asleep again.
The next morning, Allison wakes up next to me. She looks at me confused, "I don't remember getting up last night." She whispers, looking at me before quickly getting up.
The boys help me up and give us food they brought along.
After eating, we packed up and heading back home. Every hour that passed, Allison told me to take a short break. We needed to get back quickly, we're going to get there at sunset if we continue to stop. The boys never complained or asked me to stop, we kept going.
We were about less than a half an hour away from camp when Allison stopped dead in her tracks. We all turn to ask what was wrong. I could see her face turn pale as she fell to the ground seizing and choking on vomit that was coming out of her mouth.
"Turn her onto her side! Hurry." I yell, Charlie turned her. He looked up at me with concern. "Someone carefully pick her up and run her home. One of you stay with me while they get home, we'll meet you there." I tell the boys, Chris holds her gently and sprints in the direction of home with Nate running alongside. Charlie, Levi and I finish our trip as fast as possible, getting into our familiar camp. "We're home."
I rush to the infirmary, where Andrew works on Allison. John pushes me out as soon as I go in.
"Peter, it's good to see you made it, but you should wait outside. Please." John gently pushes me as I look at Allison, she was foaming at the mouth, the seizing stopped. She looked so pale, almost dead, I felt helpless.
I waited outside, boys coming back from the search to find me standing outside the tent. They hugged me gently, welcoming me back.
What felt like hours, Andrew finally comes outside. "Allison will be okay."
I let out a breath of relief, I look at him for more news.
"She's strictly bed ridden, the poison did a lot of damage to her immune system. It's a good thing the boys brought her when they did, or I wouldn't have been able to save her." I rest an arm on his shoulder, with out a word I look at him with gratitude.
"Come inside, let me have a look at you." I follow him inside, Allison was behind the curtain laying on a cot, I assumed. I laid down on the table, Andrew lifted my shirt and gasped.
"Peter, how did you get this?" He touched it softly, I winced.
"Everyone has been asking me that, I don't remember how I got it. Is it really that bad?" Andrew feels it and pushes on it, making me hiss in pain. He feels my rib cage to check on anymore.
"I'm sorry Peter, I know it must hurt. You have 3 broken ribs, 3 fractured. This bulge on your side is a dislocated rib, I need to carefully push it back into place. If I'm successful, you need to move as little as possible for a few weeks; these ribs need to heal." I nod and let Andrew work.
After he carefully did his work he left me on a cot. I let out a shaky breath, trying to recover from all the pain.
A small voice came from the side, I look over and see Aaron. Frightened, he took a step closer to me.
"Aaron." I weakly say. Tears stream down his face. He gently hugs me, sobbing.
"I'm so happy you guys are okay! You're back home safe." He cried.
