Third Person

When Tyler's mom finally returned with a glass of water, she found Tyler staring blankly at the wall ahead of him. She sighed, knowing this was him dissociating. She set the glass of water on his nightstand and sat beside her son, waiting for something to happen.

She saw him take a long, slow blink, before looking around quickly. "Are you okay, sweetie?"

Tyler scoffed at her, standing. "I'm fine, not that you actually care,"

She rolled her eyes. "Nice to see you too. You know, I think we'd all appreciate it if you would take a second to apologize to Zack," Kelly knew this wouldn't happen, but figured it was worth a shot.

"Awe, did I hurt his little feelings?" He pouted mockingly.

"You broke his nose." She spoke through grit teeth.

"Ha! Really?" He walked towards the door, pulling it open.

"Where do you think you're going?" Kelly asked, entirely fed up with the situation at hand.

"Anywhere I want, bitch." His eyes widened in excitement, watching closely for Kelly's reaction.

Her jaw clenched. "You need to stay in this room. I'm not prepared to put this house on lockdown because you can't control yourself,"

"Excuse you, I'm fully in control."

Kelly rolled her eyes. When she went to regain eye contact with her son, she found he'd already left the room.

"Mom!" Maddy called from her room. Sighing, Kelly stood to check on her daughter.

"Oh, come on. All you kids rely so much on your mom, how are you ever gonna function in the real world?" Blurryface asked, rolling his eyes.

"I'm twelve." Maddy replied flatly.

"Not an excuse. What're you doing?"

"Homework?"

He nodded, looking around her room.

"Can I help you?" She asked, getting frustrated.

Blurryface shrugged, sitting on the end of the bed. "What homework are you doing?"

Maddy's eyes furrowed as she looked at her brother. "Why do you even care?"

"I don't, I'm making conversation. God, I am capable of being civil, you know," He rolled his eyes, standing.

"Math." She gestured to the textbook in front of her.

He nodded, taking the textbook and flipping through a few pages. After a few seconds of closely watching him, Maddy broke the silence.

"Why'd you hurt Zack like that?" She asked softly.

He laughed, still flipping through the textbook. "Cause I can. He was pestering us, and I was tired of listening to it."

"Pestering you?"

"Yeah, kind of like you are," He glared at her over the textbook.

She tensed, looking back at her notes.

"Tyler, you need to go back to your room." Kelly spoke from the doorway, arms crossed.

"I'm not even doing anything! And you know damn well I'm not Tyler."
