Worse

After school had ended for the day we decided to hang out at Josh's place for a while. Josh and I walked our bikes to his house, Jenna between us, laughing at stupid puns and bad jokes along the way; Josh made most of them. Things between Jenna and I got less awkward as time went on, even though it had only been a few hours.

"What do you guys wanna do?" Josh asked as he unlocked the door. "No PDA though, that's where I draw the line!" He continued in a joking voice.

"Haha, very funny, Josh." Jenna commented.

"Why don't we play some Mario Kart?" I suggested.

"Sure."

"Sounds like fun."

Josh opened the door and led us into the living room to set up the game. "There's another controller downstairs, could one of you guys run and get it please?" He asked.

"I can go." Jenna said as she stood up.

Once she was out of the room, Josh stopped what he was doing and turned to face me with an eyebrow raised.

"What?" I chuckled.

"You know."

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up, okay?"

"All I'm saying is good on you." He said raising his hands defensively in a joking manner. "You finally got the girl of your dreams."

I glanced towards the staircase to see if Jenna was on her way back yet. When I saw that she wasn't, I turned back to Josh. "I know! Its great! I'm so happy!" I said with a huge smile growing across my face.

He smiled at me and went back to setting up the Wii.

"I can't find it, Josh!" Jenna called up.

"Coming!" He called back. "Can you finish plugging in the cords, Ty?"

I nodded and walked over to the Wii. Once I finished, I went to stand by the top of the stairs. "Come on! How long does it take to find a controller!" I called down.

Neither one of them replied so I went downstairs to see what was taking them so long. "Guys seriously, how long does it take to get a controller?"

As I took a quick glance around the basement my eyes landed on Josh digging in a trunk and Jenna looking through a small bin. "Really?" I raised an eyebrow at them. "It's a controller not a treasure chest."

Jenna looked up and stuck her tongue out at me before going back to looking.

"You could help, you know." Josh commented.

"I will and I bet I can find it faster than you guys."

"Is that a challenge, Joseph?" Jenna asked.

"Sure is, Black."

"Fine, we'll see who can find it first; first person to find it gets to pick the other peoples set up for their cars." Josh said.

"Deal." Jenna and I said in unison.

I took a short, quick glance around the room, seeing something that closely resembled the controller we were looking for. Making a mad dash for the shelf, I caught my foot on the couch and face planted onto the carpet causing Josh and Jenna to double over laughing. "Shut up." I glared.

I carefully stood up and calmly walked towards what I figured would be the remote without tripping and embarrassing myself again. Taking a closer look, I saw that it was the remote, so I grabbed it triumphantly and stated that I found it.

"What? How!" Jenna questioned.

"You guys are blind and were looking in the wrong place." I said, a smile growing on my face.

"Oh my god. Alright, let's go lose the game cause Ty's gonna give us the worst of everything for the cars." Josh sighed.

I laughed. "Yeah I am!"

Josh and Jenna rolled their eyes and walked up the stairs. I laughed again and followed them.

On my bike ride home, things started getting more intense in my head. The voices who I thought were kinder were getting meaner and meaner as time went on. The longer I was riding the worse they got. They were getting closer to Blurryface's status which wasn't a good thing. That's kind of an exaggeration, but they were getting bad. I remembered what he had told me earlier in the week about how they were just masking themselves so I would trust them again; at first I didn't believe him, or maybe I just didn't want to because of who he is, but either way I was starting to now. I was getting really scared so I booked it home. As I walked towards the steps, my head started pounding from the fighting and the sarcastic comments being thrown back and forth.

"Great, a migraine. Fun." I sighed.

I opened the door and threw my bag by the closet doors. "Anybody here?" I called.

No response.

"Hello?" I called again as I looked for some kind of pill to help with the pain.

No answer again. I knew mom and dad would be at work, Zack was at a game, and Mady was at a friends, but I had no clue where Jay was. As I filled up a glass of water, I took out my phone to ask mom if she knew where he'd be. If he was missing I would be in huge trouble.

To: Mom
You know where Jay is?

From: Mom
He should be at home.

To: Mom
Unless he's asleep somewhere, he's not here.

From: Mom
Find him?

To: Mom
Fine.

From: Mom
Thank you

I quickly swallowed the pill and headed towards the stairs to see if Jay was in his room. Calling his name, I walked to his room. I opened the door and saw him asleep.

As I looked at Jay asleep, I got the idea to jump on his bed to wake him up.

Such a great big brother.

I rolled my eyes and jumped on Jay's bed.

"Tyler! What're you doing?!" He screamed.

I doubled over laughing and shook my head at him.

"Why are you like this?" Jay asked, pushing me teasingly off his bed.

Once I had finished laughing, I got him to come watch a movie with me. The voices were horrible during the movie, making stupid remarks and sarcastic comments throughout the whole thing. They made it almost impossible to focus. I enjoyed the time with my brother though.
