Ava's POV

Next day at school was pretty gloomy. Well for me it was. It was actually a sunny day. Birds were chirping and all that bullshit. I just felt pretty gloomy.

I sat in math class, third period, tapping my pencil against the desk as I tried to focus on the problems in front of me. But I just couldn't.

All I could think about was Chris. What was he doing? He hadn't come to class again today and I knew it was my fault. Of course it was my fault. Letting out a sigh, I leaned my head against the desk for a minute.

I didn't hear it but the door had opened catching the teachers attention. "Ah. Mr. Sterling. So nice of you to show up."

My head shots up as Chris walks in, ignoring the teacher and walking up to his desk in front of me after grabbing the math worksheet. My eyes stay glued to him.

What the hell? Why show up now? Where has he been? Did he get my voice mail? Does he still hate me? God, what if he never forgive-

My trail of thought is cut off when a note slides onto my desk. Chris retracts his hand and I look up at to see the teaches back turned so I grab the note. Opening it, I read the words written on it.

'We need to talk. Wait outside the class for me after this period.'

I look back up at Chris's back before stuffing the note in my pocket. I drum my fingers on the desk anxiously. What if he just tells me off? I can't handle that much rejection.

When the bell finally rings, I sprint out of the class. I wait by the door, tapping my foot nervously. Chris comes out minutes later, grabs my hand then drags me out through the back entrance of the school.

When we get outside, I open my mouth to start the huge rant that was going through my mind.

"I'm so sorry-"

He cuts me off by attaching his lips to mine and my face gets warm as he grabs my waist gently. Pulling away, he leans his forehead against mine.

"It's okay." He whispers.

My eyes widen. "Chris-"

He cuts me off again. "Let me talk. Yes I was mad at you yesterday. And yes I got your voicemail yesterday too. You were right. It was wrong of you to intervene but it was also wrong of me to shout at you. You didn't know why I was upset and I took my anger out on you. But next time, learn to control your mouth or I might just do it for you." He smirks, looking down at my lips then back up at me.

I let out a strangled breath. "Uhh, I-yeah okay." I splutter making Chris chuckle.

"Do I make you speechless, sweetheart?" He says, trailing a finger down my bare arm.

I regret wearing this flimsy tank top now.

"N-No! I'm just...cold." I finish lamely making him roll his eyes.

"You can't lie to me, Ava." Chris says amusingly.

I lean back, huffing. "I'm not lying!" I say childishly, crossing my arms.
