I paced back and forth as I sat in the waiting room, trying to figure out if I should call mom or not.

I was on my phone, making a list of pros and cons of why I should and shouldn't call her.

Why I should.

1 she will find out later

2 Lindsey needs another stable adult

3 I'll get in more trouble

4 a lot of trouble

5 grounded

6 not let me play soccer in college

7 I might not be able to hide it from her

8 Lindsey has a big mouth

9 Lindsey needs another adult here

10 I don't know how ill stable I can be

11. I won't be able to hide it for long

Why I shouldn't.

1 I'll get in trouble

2 she might ignore me

3 she might say I'm irresponsible

4 might not be trusted

5 get car taken away

I sighed. I should won. I looked back done at my list skeptically. I felt like why I shouldn't should have been a lot longer and when I mean a lot I mean a ton.

I scrolled through my list of contacts, passing my fathers old number, before I got to her number. I clicked on her contact and clicked on her number and waited. I quietly tapped my foot as I stood in front of the chair which I had been sitting only minutes ago and where I had started my pacing. I began to count the number of rings it would take for her to answer.

One...... Two....... Three....... Fo....

Not even the forth ring I heard her pick up the phone. "Hello?" She asked questioningly. I knew she and caller I.D. so she most defiantly knew it was me.

"Hi mom!" I said trying to act casual and I defiantly failed epically. I mentally face palmed. I guess this was just to big to try to hide from her. Usually I could lie fine, so why not now.

"What did you do!" you could hear the sternness in her voice and the venom that had dropped from her every word and made my flinch as if I had actually been stung or zapped by a taser. If I didn't answer soon I bed that she'd probably jump through the phone this very second and ground me longer and longer until I told her every single tiny detail that I could remember.

I took a deep breathe and slowly let it out. "I need you." I didn't want to go into detail over the phone. I just wanted her to know that she needed to come wherever I was.

"Why?" She asked. Her voice had suddenly grown quieter since her last line she spoke to me.

"Well......." I gulped. My palms became sweaty and sticky. I clamped them shut so they became fists. I really only wanted her to ask for the address, not why right now. "Just come to the hospital." I replied. Like I said I'd rather tell her in person.

She didn't miss a best when she asked me. "Which one?" I took another deep breathe as I tried to make the weight that had suddenly been dropped on my chest feel less heavy.

"Chauncey." I replied quietly. It was barely audible, it barely came out as a whisper, probably even quieter than that.

"Say no more." She replied quickly, once again not missing a single beat. I went to ask if she was coming when the line went dead and only a steady beep filled my ear before I was clicked out of my phone and back into my call history.
