~Chapter 1~

-SKYLARS P.O.V-

Today is September 23rd. The day before one of the biggest days in my life, mine and Hunters wedding. The past year has flown by, and its been perfect, though I knew it wouldn't always be. Hunter debuted his new album and the fans went crazy for it, literally. Hayley and I started our own business called H&S, and its been on fast lane, with interviews, and people asking for designs, and we were even working to get our own shop. Natalie walks on her own and she knows how to say three words Daddy, Mommy, and sing. Shed always say sing whenever she wanted to hear Hunters voice. Hayley and Sam have still been dating, and I think someday soon they are going to tie the knot, or at least I feel like something big will be happening soon. As for the rest of the guys everything has been the same lately. Our parents are in town for the wedding and they are so incredibly proud of Hunter and I and how far we've come, together, always together. The wedding is all set up, and everything's ready, except me. I was nervous and worried about every little detail, but I knew the second I'd step out into that aisle and saw Hunter all the nerves would disappear as I would look into his blue eyes, at least I hope they would. I felt as if I were on a rollercoaster towards my future it had ups and downs as all rides did, as life did. I only wish I would realize how true that was. I'm sitting in this empty house with Natalie as she runs around making noises and playing with toys and I laugh at her, hoping she would never grow up, and save her innocence. Hunter was at Sam's so I know tonight would be a lonely one in bed, but it will all be worth it tomorrow night, I would be Skylar Hayes. Hayley would be here first thing in the morning to begin the big wedding day, and I don't know if I was quite ready yet, but I knew even if I wasn't, I had to be. I would be the second his hands would take mine. Natalie runs up to me and hits my knee as I'm sitting on the couch thinking and she crawls up next to me. "Mommy!" She says in her high-pitched voice before giggling and I smile as I look at her long blonde hair and her beautiful crystal blue eyes, that had Hunters spark with ambition, and passion. "Yes?" I smile and she just giggles again making me laugh and I place her in my lap. "Tomorrows going to be a big day isn't it flower girl?" I say and she smiles and giggles at me shaking her head, and I'm not sure if she meant yes or no, but either way it didn't matter. "I'll take that as a yes." I say smiling as I walk to her room holding her. I change her diaper and put her into her pajamas, and the whole time she would laugh and put her hands in her mouth. The way she laughed was musical and I could tell she was going to be just like her dad someday. As I finish getting her ready for bed and lay her down I know I have to get ready for tomorrow too, mentally ready. Soon my phone begins to buzz and I pick it up. "Hey!" I say into it and Hunter replies. "Hey baby! I miss you it doesn't feel the same without you in my arms." He says and I smile at his kind yet cheesy choice of words. "I agree its lonely, but hey it'll be worth it after tomorrow." I say giggling. "You remind me of Natalie with that giggle, I miss you both so much, I can't wait to meet you at the alter, Mrs. Soon-to-be-Hayes." He says laughing into the phone. "Oh crap that's tomorrow! I forgot!" I say sarcastically. "Out of all people you'd be the one to NOT forget." He says and I smile. "I'm gonna try and sleep, I'm in your shirt so I smell like you." I say laughing. "I have on the cross necklace you gave me when we were 16 as a going away gift." Hunter says and I smile. "You still have it." I ask giggling. "I've never taken it off, you were right, when you wondered about if we were gonna ever be married." He says and I smile. "I was just thinking about that, and I always am. I love you Hayes." I say giggling. "Sure you are! Hey! Can I start calling you that since it will be your last name too?" Hunter adds. "Funny Hayes, goodnight!" I say into the phone. "I love you too, Goodnight!" He says as the line goes dead. "I can't believe I'm marrying that dork tomorrow." I say loudly throughout the house. "I can't believe that dorks marrying me." I whisper smiling to myself as I walk down the hall and into our room as I crawl underneath the covers with three alarms already set. "In 24 hours I'll be Mrs. Hayes." I say smiling as I cuddle into Hunters pillow that still smelled like him and I fall asleep quickly thinking about our future together, and what there was to come, knowing that there would be ups and downs, right now I'm waiting in line and tomorrow afternoon I'm boarding the ride of a lifetime.

-HUNTERS POV-

As I end the call and the line goes dead I turn my phone to my lock screen and the picture behind it shows Skylar and Natalie asleep on the floor surrounded by all Natalie's toys, a picture I had taken when I got home from work, my sleepy heads. I lay in bed and immediately my hand goes to the cross necklace Skylar had gotten me when I was about to go to Nashville, I remember the day she gave it to me perfectly. It was a few days from my birthday and I was packed and ready to go when I heard my window open, and I saw Skylar climb in, with her long blonde hair that fell to the middle of her back and her deep blue eyes. "Hey!" I said looking at her sadly knowing I had to leave that night. "Your kinda wet." I added laughing at her with her wet hair and shirt, joking at the fact it was pouring outside. "Oh shush Hayes." She said giggling and I smiled, having always loved her giggle, with the way her eyes glittered when she did. "I got you something, to remember me by." She said holding out a box. "Sky, I will always remember you, I don't need gifts." I said and she shook her head holding out the box. I took the box and opened it exposing a black cross necklace with 'Look up and you'll see me' engraved into the side, since I had always called her Sky. "You didn't have too Sky." I said and she shook her again, being stubborn as she always was, and is. As the time went along we ended up laying in my bed talking all day about everything including out future as friends, not realizing someday we'd be getting married. "Hunter promise one day you'll come visit me." She said. "Where are you going?" I had asked. "My family's moving to Miami in a week." She said quiet and sadly and I sat up. "Your leaving Breaux Bridge." I whispered looking at her and she nodded. "My dad got a new job, I wasn't planning on telling you... Your leaving anyways." She said. "I was gonna come back, for you." I said looking at her sadly. "I can't change it, but trust me if I could, I would." She had said as if she was gonna cry. "I guess I'll just have to find time to come down to Miami myself." I said and smiled. "You would!" she said giggling, and her eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas. "For you I would." I said wanting to tell her how I felt about her, but I never knew how. "Hunter what if one day we just got married? Like just have a random change of events somewhere in life where we end up together? EW! I'd never be able to deal with you ALL day!" She had asked and I laughed. "HEY! I see what your looking at, but we're best friends, but I don't know about marriage!" I had said. I knew now I was right about one thing, we would always be best friends, but tomorrow afternoon I'd be marrying her, my girl with the deep blue eyes and giggle that couldn't help but make me smile, and her long blonde hair that fell perfectly straight, even her glasses she wears on lazy days, everything about her made me love her more and more. I felt as if tomorrow I'd be boarding the ride of a lifetime, and I knew somewhere in my heart, that Sky felt it too, as long as we are together we could make it, but I didn't know quite yet if we were ready for what was to come.
