~Chapter 47~
-SKYLARS P.O.V-
I pull on my white sweater and look down at my red skinny jeans and white flats. I put on my wedding ring and my engagement ring and I clip on the necklace Hunter gave me at his last show during his first tour. We sure came a long way since then. I look up in the mirror at my naturally done makeup and curled hair and I smile as I feel hands slide from my hips over my small baby bump and I look down at his hands before looking up at Hunter in the mirror. "How are my babies doing?" He whispers and I smile turning in his arms wrapping my arms around his neck. "Amazing," I whisper and he kisses me as the doorbell rings and I gasp bouncing away as I walk quickly out the bedroom door. I walk down the stairs and open the door quickly and I squeal. "Its been way to long!" I say smiling and Lynette nods. "We missed you." She whispers and I smile. "I'm glad you two are back," I say hugging her before backing up and hugging Leo. He hugs back before backing up as Natalie runs to the door her hair curled and her red tutu dress bouncing with her and I smile. "Gamma!" She yells as Lynette hugs her laughing. "Papa!" She yells as Lynette hands her to Leo and I smile as Hunter wraps his arm around me as my mom walks into the room smiling and I turn and look at her smiling back. "Skylar, want to help me set the table?" She asks and I nod walking away from Hunter as he walks to his parents. I walk into the kitchen and begin to set the table with my mom and I look at her. "What's on your mind sweetheart?" She asks and I look at the plates I was setting up. "I have an amazing husband, a beautiful daughter, a baby on the way, my best friends are planning their wedding, and my dream is in motion. I have everything I want in life, but I dont feel ready for any of it." I whisper looking at her and she smiles. "Skylar, you will never truly be ready for anything in life, and if you are it takes away the best part, the surprises. The best things in life aren't planned. Its okay to not be ready, it shows that you that anything can happen." She says and I smile nodding. "Thanks Mom." I whisper and she smiles walking into the kitchen to get the food and I stare at my hands smiling still before walking out helping her as Lynette grabs a pan and helps her. "You don't need to help Lynette, you've been driving all day long. You go relax!" Mom says and I nod in agreement. "Oh, I have to do something, its Christmas." She says and I smile shaking my head. I know where Hunter got his stubbornness from. We finish setting the table and we all sit down to eat engaging in our own conversations. Hunter rubs my leg under the table and I smile looking at him. 'Love you' I mouth and he smiles. 'Love you too' he mouths back and I smile. "So what was your favorite Christmas gift?" Lynette asks looking at Natalie and she puts her hand on her chin as if to think and I laugh at her dorkiness. "Uk-e-le!" She yells and we all laugh as she giggles. "She has barely set it down since this morning." I say smiling looking at her and she nods taking a bite of her food. Soon we all finish and Hunter and Leo go to the living room as Natalie sits on the counter and plays with her Ukulele as Mom, Lynette, and I clean up dinner. "Bathroom," Natalie says and I yell for Hunter. "Huh?" He says walking in and I point to Natalie. "She needs to use the bathroom." I say and he laughs picking her up. "Potty training?" Lynette asks and I nod. "Shes doing pretty well." I say smiling and Lynette laughs. "Lucky parents." She says and I shake my head smiling. "Hunter was stubborn." She says and I burst out laughing. We wash the dishes together sharing stories and the doorbell rings and I look at my mom and she shrugs and I wipe off my hands going to the door. "Merry Christmas!" Everyone yells as I open the door to see Devo, his wife, Andy, Melissa, Steve, Matt, Sam, Hayley, and Taylor and I smile. "You guys!" I say letting everyone in and Hunter smiles. "Its a party now!" He yells and I laugh hugging Melissa. "How are you doing?" She asks referring to the baby and I smile. "Amazing, and you?" I say and she smiles back. "Had our first doctor visit a few days ago." She says and I smile. She was an amazing person and each conversation I had with her filled me with so much wisdom. Truly an angel. I hug all the guys and I laugh as they all hug me. "Let's move this party to the living room!" I say laughing as everyone goes and sits down. Andy and Melissa on the ground near the tree with Steve and Matt. Sam, Hayley, and Taylor on the love seat. Devo and his wife sit on the ground and Lynette, Leo, and my mom sit on the couch with Natalie in my moms lap. I smile and turn to Hunter. "Merry Christmas." I whisper smiling and he kisses me. "Merry Christmas." He says before kneeling down and kissing my stomach and I smile as he stands taking my hand. We walk into the living room sitting down and I smile looking at everyone and I see Sam playing with Hayleys ring on her hand as Hayley bounces Taylor. I see Andy looking at Melissa as she holds her stomach as they were expecting too. I look to Devo and his wife talking and smiling. I see Matt and Steve bickering about something and I roll my eyes. I look over to Lynette and Leo holding hands and I see my Mom playing with Natalie. I knew my dad would love this, being together. I felt in my heart a certain warmness and I knew he was here with me. "I love you Dad, Merry Christmas." I whisper barely audible and I smile taking Hunters hand as he looks at me kissing me. I lean my head on his shoulder and look around at everyone in the room smiling and talking to each other. Everyone enjoying one another's company. This was my family, not all by blood, but all at heart.
