~Chapter 45~

-SKYLARS P.O.V-

"Mommy," I hear next to me and I open my eyes and see Natalie kneeling in the spot where Hunter had laid before and I sit up. "What sweetie?" I whisper and she lays down. "I'm hungry." She whispers and I turn and look at the clock, 9:45 a.m. Hunter was long gone by now. I nod and get out of bed grabbing my robe to throw on over Hunters shirt and my shorts and Natalie walks out of the room ahead of me and we walk down the stairs. "What do you want?" I ask as she sits and I go to the fridge. "Ice cream." She says and I smile. With my cravings lately I actually didnt mind ice cream for breakfast. "Sure." "Really!" She says and I nod and she gasps smiling and I laugh. I make two small bowls of ice cream and hand her one leaning on the counter and she takes a spoonful. "Mommy why is your tummy getting bigger?" She says and I look down to my small bump and I smile. "Mommy is going to have a baby." "Like Taylor?" She says and I nod giggling. She smiles and takes another bite. "I like baby, it got me ice cream." She says and I laugh shaking my head. "Oh my gosh, just like her father." I whisper throwing my head back looking up. She really was something else. I grab both of our bowls and put them in the sink as Hayley walks into the kitchen with Taylor on her hip. "Hey Mama." She says and I laugh rolling my eyes as that was my new nickname from her. "Hows Miss. Im-gonna-stay-up-till-3 a.m.?" Hayley asks Natalie and she giggles. "Baby got me ice cream!" Natalie says and I laugh and Hayley looks at me. "I was craving ice cream so thats what we got for breakfast." I say laughing and Hayley shakes her head laughing with me. "So I never got to ask, how was the CMAs?" "Carrie Underwood was wearing my dress." I whisper and Hayley squeals. "Really?" She says and I nod. "Which one?" "The one I designed at 5 a.m. when we were 19." "That was a long night." She says and I nod thinking back to the night, it had been a night Hayley comforted me while I was left alone.

"Hey Hayes, I can't wait to finally see you again." I said into the phone and I heard Hunters sad sigh and immediately my mind began to wonder. "What's wrong?" "They signed me up to do a gig tonight, I won't be able to fly down." "Hunter its been three years. The last time I saw you, you were leaving." I whispered and he went quiet. "I know Sky, life's been crazy here in Nashville, and with you in Florida this is difficult." He said and I leaned my head on the wall behind me. "I know Hayes, I'm sorry." I whispered and I heard him clear his throat. "I'll see you sometime Skylar, we promised each other." "Best friends no matter how many miles apart." I whispered not believing it anymore. "I promise Skylar." "Its okay, rock 'em Hayes, just know your number one fan is still cheering for you." "I'll call you after?" "I think I'm going to go to Hayley's." "Okay, goodnight Skylar, I'm sorry I couldnt be there." I heard him say and I swallowed back my tears. "Its fine, night." I whispered hanging up. I grabbed my coat and began the drive to Hayleys house.

That had been the night that started our dream in running a fashion business, even if we had to start small. We had made some designs, the dress being one of them by me, and took them into a local business to see. They had loved Hayleys but said that the dresses I designed wouldnt be caught dead in. I wish I could go back and show them what I am now. Hayley said the only way she would take the job was if I could work along side her. At first I didn't want to be accepted like that, but as Hayley told me this job would be temporary, and it was. It seemed we switched company's till finally we found one we both loved, and we ended up working there until we started our own business. I look at Hayley and she looks back curiously. "What are you thinking about?" "If Hunter hadn't cancelled our plans, Hayley, we would have never gotten into fashion together." I whisper and she smiles. "God works in weird ways." "Yeah," I breathe out smiling and she smiles back before walking out of the room and I lean on the counter, "He does." I whisper to myself as I think about my entire life. I feel Natalie hit my leg lightly and I look down at my baby girl. Her eyes blue like Hunters and her hair just like mine, she was a gift from God as well. "Mommy." "Hmm?" I whisper picking her up and she smiles. "Can we watch movies today?" She whispers and I nod smiling. I walk out to the living room laying down pillows and blankets and Hayley walks in. "Want to watch some Disney movies with us?" I say and she smiles. "Just like back then." She asks and I nod smiling. "Absolutely," she says and Natalie claps excitedly as we all sit down and Natalie cuddles into me and I cover us up and Hayley sits on the couch as I push play on Tangled, my favorite Disney movie, and Natalie smiles. She watches the movie and sings along to the songs and I watch her smiling. I feel my phone vibrate and I look at the text from Hunter. 'How are my number one fans?' I smile and take a picture of Natalie as she watches the movie. 'Taking a girls day.' I send the text and immediately I get a reply. 'Can't wait to be home with you three.' 'Rock 'em Hayes, we'll see you soon.' I send the text and put my phone down and I lay my head back on a pillow as Hayley puts in Peter Pan and Natalie claps as she loved Tinkerbell and I smile. God did work in weird ways, you just have to trust Him. He has a plan, trust it.
