~Chapter 49~

"Hey Hayes." I say into the phone running my hand through Natalies blonde hair and she coughs covering her mouth as she was having her first cold and wasnt taking it so well. "I have some news." He says almost sounding unsure of himself and I smile as my heartbeat picks up with nervousness. "Me too." I whisper into the phone as I just got off the phone with my assistant who talked to the company who endorsed our business. They wanted Hayley and I to travel around America to different openings for stores all around the United States. I told them Id get back to them as I needed to talk to Hunter and Hayley about all this. With a now three year old and a baby due in 3 months it definitely wouldnt be easy. On Hayley's side she was planning a wedding and starting a new chapter in her life. I dont know if this is what she wanted. "I'll be home in a few and we can talk." He says hanging up and I take a deep breath. I heard him talking about a new album and that would make him have to stay in Nashville but I really wanted to do this for mine and Hayleys business. I spent all this time chasing a dream, at this point I didnt want to let it go. After minutes pass the garage door opens and I stand off the couch holding Natalie against my side as she bunches my shirt on my now round stomach. Hunter walks in the door and kisses me before kissing Natalies head and she giggles as I set her down. "You first." We say at the same time and we laugh together. "I'll go." He says and I nod as he looks at me. "They want me to go on a tour around America a few months after the baby is born and I told them the possibility was unlikely-" he says interrupted by my arms going around neck in surprise and relief. "I didnt think you'd be happy about this, I'd be gone for over six months." He says and I back up smiling as my heart races. "No its perfect." I say smiling and he looks at me confused. "They want Hayley and I to travel around America and go to the openings for stores, they said we can pick and choose cities and do whatever works for us." I say quickly and he smiles. "Hunter, I can go on tour with you!" I say and he picks me up and kisses me excitedly. "This is amazing." He whispers and I smile. "I need to call Kayla and tell her to call the people back and tell them I'll do it!" I say backing up and he laughs kissing me. "You are something special." "You were the one that asked for crazy." I say and he laughs leaning in to kiss me and I run into the living room and he shakes his head looking at his feet laughing and I stick my tongue out as I dial the phone. "Kayla, tell them yes, we'll go." I say and she agrees and I hang up and take a deep breath. The moment had been a blur and hell, maybe I wasnt ready for all this. A new baby, a new tour, the traveling, Hayley's wedding, but ready or not they were all happening and I couldnt be happier. I had everything. I walk into the kitchen and see Hunter giving Natalie medicine and she sticks her tongue out after she drinks it. "Yuck!" She yells before coughing and Hunter laughs giving her a sip of water to wash it down and he rubs her back gently. I watch him as he interacts with her and the way he treated her gently and I lay my hand on my stomach. He was the perfect Dad for our children. "Its pretty late, how about we get her to bed after a bath." I say walking into the kitchen as it was already 9 p.m. "Good idea." Hunter says picking Natalie up and he walks past me up the stairs with her as she leans her head on his shoulder. "The perfect Dad." I whisper again smiling before walking into the kitchen and getting myself a water. I see a text from Hayley on my phone and I open it. 'Major wedding planning tomorrow, be ready.' It reads and I laugh shaking my head. 'What else do you need? Weve been planning for three months now and the wedding is in two months, relax.' I send her the text and I set my phone down. She would always stress so much but I didnt blame her, she just needed to learn when to step back and take a deep breath. 'You're right.' The next text says and I smile setting my phone down. "Oh sh-Hayley!" I had completely forgotten to talk to her. I dial her phone number and I hear her pick up. "Don't worry, I'm calmed down." "Its not that, I have some news." I say into the phone before telling her the plan and I hear her squeal. "Skylar, why would I ever pass up an opportunity like this?" "I dont know I just-" "Of course I'll do it, and you say I worry." "You are so lucky I love you." "I get that a lot." She says and I shake my head as she hangs up and I set my phone down. I walk up the stairs and into Natalies room and I see Hunter sitting next to her bed reading to her and I smile as I look at her wet blonde hair sprawled on the pillow and her hand under her head. "Daddy will you lay with me?" She whispers as he finishes reading the book. "Absolutely princess," he whispers and she scoots over and he lays down next to her his body just short enough to fit on the medium sized kids bed. My shortie. He wraps his arm around her and covers her up and she lays her head on his side. "Can you sing to me?" She adds and he smiles and sings their version of Wanted and I watch as her eyelids fall shut and I walk in. "Lay with her tonight, she needs you." I whisper to him and he kisses me before I walk out of the room and I walk into our room. I change into his shirt and yoga pants before laying down on the soft mattress. I cover up and close my eyes and I feel my breathing begin to steady as I think about what life would bring us next, and it would be crazy.
