~Chapter 5~
-SKYLARS P.O.V-
We dance together, talking and laughing yet its slow and passionate. Our heartbeats playing together, playing my favorite song. After we finish dancing I go to the microphone. "Thanks everyone again for coming, Hunter and I are so happy that you guys are here to share this experience with us. About two and a half years ago, my dad died. If he was here I would be sharing this next dance with him." I say choked up. "Instead I'm gonna share it with my other dad that's just as amazing." I say smiling. "Leo." I say and he stands and walks to the floor smiling with tears in his eyes and we connect hands and begin to two step slowly. "I remember teaching you how to do this in 8th grade." Leo says and I giggle. "My dad definitely couldn't have taught me, have you ever seen him dance?" I say laughing as tears fall from my eyes and he wipes one away. "I'll never be able to be the father he was. He was a good man Skylar." Leo says and I smile. "You are an amazing father, and grandfather Leo." I say and he smiles. "Thank you, I knew you'd always be apart of this family from the start, and I'm really glad you are. You and Hunter were made for each other, your dad knew that and would be so proud." He says and I smile trying to hold back more tears but I fail and end up crying as Leo holds me in a caring way. The song ends and everybody claps before comeing onto the dance floor dancing with another person having fun for the rest of the night. I take Natalie's hands and I spin with her slowly and she giggles. I feel Hunters arms go around my waist and I stand straight and turn in his arms. "Tonights been magical!" I say smiling and Hunter nods. "I agree." He says kissing my forehead. Hunter let's go of me and takes Natalie's, whos standing at our feet, hands. "Daddy!" She yells in her high pitched voice and I smile as he picks her up and spins her around. The sparkle in her eyes only gets brighter and her giggle seems to echo in my ears, that giggle that never failed to make me smile. After awhile I find myself looking at everything and everyone. I watch Hunter as he talks to his parents and the guys. I watch my mom as she takes Natalie and dances with her. I watch everyone just having a good time and it warms my heart. I smile as I walk around and I find Hayley, and she is completely drunk by now, as were most people. "Dance with me?" She says and I smile and nod as we begin to dance together. I laugh with her as we talk and dance and she spills her beer on the ground and she stumbles. "I think I should get Sam to watch you." I say and she laughs at me. "Nooo!" She says beginning to whine and I shake my head. I wave Sam over and he puts his arm around Hayley. "I got this!" He says and I smile and mouth 'Thank you' to him and he nods. "Take care of her." I say smiling as I turn and walk before I see my mom how's now holding Natalie, whos falling asleep, in her arms, and she walks up to me. "Hey, I'll take her back to the hotel with me in a bit, shes tired. See you guys in a week!" My mom says winking and I smile. "Thanks Mom, I love you." I say hugging her carefully and she nods. "I love you too. Tonights been flawless, I'm so happy for you and Hunter." She says and I smile and look down. "Thanks Mom." I say smiling and she nods smiling back. Soon Sam walks up to the microphone and the music goes down. Hunter walks over to me and leads me back to the table and we sit as Sam begins to speak. "So Hunter has one more surprise for Skylar." Sam says and all the lights go off except for the lights wrapped around the trees and everybody sits down. The projector turns on and a video starts of Hunter and I watching movies together in 7th grade plays and we are throwing popcorn at each other. Below it the words read 'It started out like a friendship'. The screen changes to a picture of Hunter and I singing together in 7th grade in my room. Another picture comes up of Hunter and I comes up of us swimming in the summer of 7th grade. There's a video of Hunter chasing me around the house and I'm holding his favorite guitar above my head and I was taller at the moment. "Give it back!" Hunter had yelled in his squeaky voice that he had at one point. Everybody laughs and I begin to cry as Hunter wraps his arms around me. There's a picture of me in a black dress on the day of prom crying into Hunters shoulder when my date didn't show up. Hunter had canceled his gig just to stay with me that night as we ate cookie ice cream and watched movies. There's a picture of Hunter and I when I was learning to drive and my dad was in the passenger seat while Hunter was in the back looking scared as hell. Everybody laughs and I giggle. There's a picture of Hunter and I hugging the day he left for Nashville. There's a picture of me front row when Hunter grabbed my hand from when I went and saw him perform an actual headline show for the first time. There's a picture of Hunter and I holding hands on the ferris wheel looking up with words below it saying 'you finally said yes.' and I giggle. There's a picture of Hunter and I laying on the couch together and I was asleep. The video of our soap war begins to play and I laugh tears still falling from my eyes. There was a picture of Hunter kissing my little bump on Christmas with words below it saying 'our little present.' And I laugh tears still running down my face over my lips that were pulled into a smile. There's a picture of Hunter placing the wedding ring on my finger and it says 'You said yes, again' and I smile laughing lightly. There's a picture of me in the hospital holding Natalie for the first time. 'Our princess was born.' It says and I cry even more. I feel Hunter leave my side as a picture of Natalie and I asleep on the floor shows up. 'My sleepy heads.' It says and I laugh again still crying. The picture of Natalie, Hunter, and I that we just took comes up. 'Now we are here.' It says and the projector stops changing pictures and a spotlight shines on Hunter whos on the stage next to the projector. "Skylar as we've grown up together, we were always there for each other. I'm so grateful I get to experience my life with you, and now Natalie. You guys are my life. Without you guys, I would be incomplete. You are and always will be my crazies." Hunter says and the video for crazy begins to play and I smile still crying. "I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you, Skylar Hayes, we have a big road ahead of us, but together we can overcome anything as long as we are together." Hunter says and I run from my seat over to him and I jump into his arms as he spins me around. "I love you." He whispers. "I love you too Hayes." I say before kissing him lightly tears still streaming down my face, and everybody claps around us, and my heart beats rapidly. Tonight has been the end of something old, but the beginning of something new, and ready or not, it was beginning, now.
