~Chapter 52- four months later~
-SKYLARS P.O.V-
"How's my baby boy doing?" Hunter says walking up to me as I feed Alex his bottle and I stare down at his deep blue eyes that resembled mine. "He's doing amazing." I whisper and he kisses me. "Where's Natty?" "Packing her toys up, she said she didnt need my help." "Its a good thing we have our own bus." I say and he nods laughing. I finish feeding Alex and he looks at me and coos and I laugh as Hunter watches us smiling. "Are you all packed?" I ask looking up at Hunter and he nods. "All of our bags are on the bus and ready to go, only thing we need now is us." He says and I smile and he takes Alex from me. "Hey baby boy." He whisper kissing his forehead and Alex smiles and I take a deep breath. Four months ago I was rushed to the hospital and was in labor for 12 hours. Hunter sat by my side the entire time holding my hand, telling me to breathe. I remember the way he smiled with tears in his eyes when he held Alex for the first time. The way he handed him to me and the way Alex wrapped his little hand around my finger when I held him. Our little boy with my eyes. I remember seeing Hayley asleep in the waiting room still in her wedding dress with Sam holding Natalie who was asleep in her flower girl dress. The way they all held him and the way Natalie cared about him so much and her touch was gentle as she sat in Hunters lap and held him. All the guys came down and held him as well saying he'd be short like Hunter to make him mad. It was hilarious. Going home and being able to lay him down for the first time in his own crib. Waking up at three a.m. to his crying and having to sit and rock him back to bed, and or the nights when Hunter would sing him to asleep. The way Natalie would try and read stories to him as she was slowly learning to read herself or the way she would try and sing to him. When Lynette and Leo came to visit and see Alex and the way they cried happy tears as they held him for the first time. The same way they did with Natalie. When Mom would come over and watch him when Hunter and I needed to work, yet she didnt mind. Everything was perfect. Everything was right. "Daddy, I'm packed" Natalie yells pulling her small bag filled with her toys down the stairs with her. I see her in her white dress and her cowgirl boots and her wavy blonde hair is tossed up in a ponytail. I walk over and open her bag and I see surrounded by her stuffed animals was the little ukulele we had given her. I smile and she looks at me. "Can I bring it, please Mommy?" She asks and I nod. "Absolutely," I say and she smiles and hugs me before backing up. I zip up the bag and stand as Hunter puts Alex in his carrier as he falls asleep slowly. "Are we ready?" He asks and I look around the house. "Ready." I whisper smiling and Natalie walks out of the front door holding her bag with her. Hunter picks up Alex's carrier and walks out the front door too and I smile looking after him as he walks on the bus tickling Natalie and she yells laughing. I was ready for this new chapter. Actually, this new book. I was ready for whatever the world had to throw at me now, I always had been. I walk out of the house closing the door. Closing the book, starting new. My life was now a blank page waiting for me to write on it. Waiting for me to start with the first sentence. Anything could happen. I was about to leave for four months to travel the country to open new stores with my best friend while our husbands were on tour. I had a baby girl about to start preschool, and a newborn baby boy. It was crazy, but now I knew, I was ready, I always had been.
