New School, New Boys!

FULL Revision Complete 10/4/25: Okay, so during my original revision, all I did was alter a few things, fixed major grammar issues, and added a bit to tie in the new plot. However, after rereading, I wasn't really satisfied and decided to rewrite it entirely. So, here you go! I tried to keep to the same scenes, only they now make more sense and are written with better dialogue.

Original Word Count: a little over 3000
New Word Count: 3787

"Have you guys heard? The new girl who's transferring starts tomorrow."

"Yeah, it's all everyone's talking about. Apparently, she's on a scholarship, so she's not gonna be as exciting as they're making it out to be."

"Yeah, but still~ It's gonna be fun to have a new newbie around, right Jellal?"

"Oh, most definitely. I've already got some pranks lined up." The blue-headed man grinned as they entered their destination. A nice little cafe not far from the dorms. But they were stopped dead in their tracks when their eyes laid upon their "usual" table. There, seated and chatting in complete ignorance, was another group of students. The girls were deep into their conversation to even notice the large group of boys that had just arrived. Until, well, one of them began to shout.

"Oi, nerds. You know the rules. Get out of our spot!" One of the men with jet-black hair shouted, leading the way to the table.

All of a sudden, the atmosphere around the girls became timid as one of them jumped up and immediately started gathering her things, a few of the others following suit. "S-Sorry, Gajeel! We.. We didn't mean to..!" She frantically stuttered out as she adjusted her headband and grabbed her book.

The three bluenettes found themselves rushing out the door, the sound of the boys laughing following behind. The group of eight immediately got comfortable in their spot, grabbing nearby chairs and making that place their 'home.'

One of the blondes chuckled, leaning back in his chair, "Geez, they didn't even put up a fight. How pathetic." The boys continued about their day, but their usual routine was interrupted once more moments later.

A certain blonde-haired woman rushed into the cafe, steam practically coming from her head. Right behind her, the three bluenettes who had been rushed out not even 20 minutes ago. It seemed as though they were trying to calm the new girl down, but she was clearly not listening. Instead, her gaze landed on the boys. Her eyes had lit up in recognition for only a moment before she returned to a look of anger.

"Hey. Did you just kick my friends out?" She marched over, arms crossed. Her voice was stern, though it seems she was holding back her tongue.

"Uh, yeah? This is our table, after all!" The pink-haired boy grinned, placing his hands behind his head. "They should've known better!"

"Well, I would think a group of boys like you would have some sort of common sense to know that this cannot possibly be your table. Where are we, in kindergarten? My friends were here first and we would like to enjoy our afternoon where we were. So if you would kindly-"

"Eh, no offense, blondie, but we don't really care. Everyone knows that this is where our group sits when we come here." The man with no shirt on interrupted as he scrolled through his phone, "So, if you would kindly get the fuck away from us so we can enjoy our peace? It would be much appreciated. And no one would have to get hurt."
