🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶

There was a moment of silence after Gajeel strummed the last chord of the song. I frowned upon seeing him look frustrated. It's been like this since we got to the booth.

"It's not right... there's something wrong with it..." He mumbled, looking over his sheets. We both nearly jumped when the beeping noise came up.

"Your session has now ended." The speaker said. We both sighed and packed up.

"I was hoping we would have time to look it over again. Something doesn't fit with the music," Gajeel said as we headed out of the building and made our way home.

"We have the booth again tomorrow. Let's put the song up for a while and relax. Maybe a break will help," I suggested. I knew what he meant about the song. To anyone else, it would seem fine. But to him and I, we can spot a flaw, "How about we just work on the shop?"

"..." Gajeel didn't say anything, not even looking at me. I bit my lip as we continued to the music shop.

A few years after we graduated from Fiore Academy, Lauren and Jacob offered us a job to help out at the music shop. But we were unaware that Lauren had picked up some type of cancer in the brain that eats at it. A couple of years after, Lauren had passed away. Jacob tried his best to continue keeping the shop, but it was too much. So, Gajeel and I stepped in and bought the shop. Now we're the owners.

"We're back, Pantherlily!" I called out, hoping to get a reply. Lily is honestly one of the smartest cats I've met. When we're away at the studio, he's in charge of the shop.

I heard a faint meow, followed by the dinging of his collar bell. Lily, our cute little black cat slowly came up to us. Gajeel sat on the couch, letting out his usual stressed out sigh. Lily and I exchanged glances. I sat down next to him, leaning my head on his shoulder. Lily easily jumped up into Gajeel's lap.

"You okay?" I asked, rubbing his leg.

"Yeah... I just.." He stopped there to run his hand through his hair, "The song... it means so much. Everything has to be perfect and-"

"Hey, calm down, okay? We'll get the song right. We'll play it for Jacob and he'll love it," I cut him off, knowing what would happen if he continued. Gajeel's heart is delicate compared to his steel exterior. If I didn't stop him, we would be stuck crying on this couch, "How about... we close shop today and go home?"

"We can't..."

"Wrap ourselves in some fuzzy blankets, drink loads of hot cocoa... watch your favorite k-drama?" I grinned up at him, seeing the temptation in his eyes, "Come on~ We worked hard today!"

"... Fine," I giggled and pulled him off of the couch.

As we walked down the street, Lily sat on Gajeel's broad shoulder and I held onto his hand tightly. My thumb caressed the metal ring on his fourth finger in adoration.

Choosing Gajeel that day, getting married, taking on the shop we bonded in throughout the years... was the best thing to happen.
