Demons and Dragon vs. Phoenixes.... {Pt. 2}

" GUYS! STOP IT!" Lyon tried to stop us. But it was too late. Zeref had punched me.

" YOU KNOW I DON'T WANT THAT!!" He shouted, about to punch me again. Before he could, I caught his fist.

" THEN, WHY ARE WE LEAVING?!" I shouted and was about to punch him in the stomach.

" You're leaving again?" We heard. I stopped and we turned to the doorway. All of them were there. Realization hit me.

" Zeref?" I turned to look at him. His eyes were still red.

" Lucy. Get away right now," Cobra said. He grabbed me and pulled me into his chest. Zeref got onto his feet. He was glaring at me.

" Zeref. Go for a walk and cool down," Lyon said.

" Tch," Was all Zeref said before walking out of the dorm. As soon as he did, I stood up straight and walked out of the kitchen, everyone following.

" Is it true?" Sting asked.

" Is what true?" I asked back.

" Are you really leaving again?" Natsu asked.

" Yes.... no..... maybe..... I don't know...." I said rubbing my face.

" I know you didn't want to hear about this again...... but tell us what is going on," Gray said.

" That's not important to you guys right now," Lyon said.

" No. It is if Lucy is literally SCARED and lashes out on us for no reason!" Gray stood up.

" It's Lucy's decision if she wants to tell you or not! You should trust her! If she says it is nothing, it is nothing!" Cobra shouted. Before they could fight, I stopped them.

" This...... this is what they want.... they knew we would be fighting..... we would be too mad at each other that we can work with each other....." I said.

" Who are you talking about, Blondie?!" Laxus angerly asked.

" Lyon, Cobra. Watch them," I ordered. They nodded and I stood up.

" Where are you going now?!" Gajeel asked. He was about to go after me, but Cobra pushed him back.

" Let her do her thing. You trust her, right?" Cobra said. I couldn't hear the rest. I shut the door and ran around. There is one place I know Zeref would go...... 

WITH THE GUYS! 

The guys nodded at Cobra's question.

" But she needs to tell us about these things. After what happened last year....." Jellal said.

" Lucy is our team leader. We trust her. We respect her privacy. She doesn't tell us everything. She tells us things that are important. If she doesn't tell you guys something, it might not really be important. But I have a feeling she will tell you everything," Lyon said.

" Why can't you tell us?" Natsu asked. The two literally face palmed.

" YOU ARE SUCH AN IDIOT!" The two shouted in unison. 

WITH LUCY! 

I ran across the courtyard. Zeref would go to the farthest bathroom whenever he was sad or mad. I got to the locker rooms and walked into the guys' locker room. I have been here so many times I feel immune to the smell. Just as I expected, Zeref was in the bathroom. It was a separate room because the teacher uses it. I walked up to the door and knocked.

" Zeref? Are you in there?" I asked.

" No! Go away!" Zeref replied childishly. This is how he gets whenever his emotions take over.

" Come on, Zeref! Open up!" I started smacking the door.

" I said to go away!" He cried.

" OPEN UP, ZEREF!" I shouted.

" NO!" He shouted back. I stayed silent.

"..... Look, Zeref. I'm sorry, okay? I was just overwhelmed...." I said. He didn't answer.

".... I don't know how they knew...... but they want us to fight like that.... that way we won't trust each other," I continued. Still, no respond. I started to cry.

" All I know is that we need to pull through this together or else Tartaros will hurt our friends, our families, and anyone they run into. I'm sorry I brought Mavis up like that. But we both know it was both our faults. And all we can do now is hope she wakes up. And she will wake up...." I kept speaking. You see, Mavis is my cousin. Zeref treated her like a little sister (SORRY, ZERVIS!!! IF MAVIS WAKES UP AND THEY USED TO LIKE EACH OTHER, THEY WILL END UP LIKING EACH OTHER!!! CAN'T HAVE THAT!! But I really do ship ZerVis. But it is ZerLu for this story!). Tears rapidly streamed down my face. He wasn't responding.

" Please, Zeref!" I screamed. I slid down onto my knees. My forehead was against the door. One hand on my leg and the other rested nest to my head on the door. There was no reply. I stayed like that for a while. There was a shake of the handle. I quickly looked up and Zeref opened the door.

"......" He didn't say anything. All he did was get onto his knees and hug me.

"....." I didn't say anything. I just hugged him back. I knew he was crying.

" I-I tried..... I wanted to protect her.... She was like a sister to me...." He said in between his short breaths.

" That's in the past now. I feel the same too," I comforted.

" It's all..... my fault...." He blamed. I shook my head and my grip tightened.

" It was both our faults..... But she is going to be fine. What we need to worry about right now is Tartaros," I said. He nodded slightly.

" I'm sorry....." He whispered.

" Sorry for what? You did nothing wrong," I whispered back.

" But I did. I punched you..." He cried. He put his forehead on my shoulder. I rested my hand on his head and combed his hair as his tears streamed down his face. I started singing through my tears. It was the song we sang when Mavis' incident happened.

"..... I will never forget you.... You'll always be by my side..... From the day that I met you......" I tried singing while crying. You know how people try to sing but end up failing because they are crying and breaking down? Yeah. That is how I sound. I tried singing more, but I stopped when I couldn't take it. You might not be crying, but Mavis is a very emotional subject.

"....." All you could hear was the shower dripping. After a while, Zeref pulled away and wiped his face.

" You haven't cried in awhile, have you?" I asked. He just shook his head.

" We should head back. The others might be worried," He said. I nodded and we got up.

" You're probably right," I can already see them freaking out. With that image, I giggled.

" Let's go!" Zeref started smiling. We both ran back to the dorm in a race. I won.

" I win!" I said opening the door. Zeref pouted.

" Yeah yeah," Zeref muttered. We walked in and saw the whole place trashed. Zeref and I looked at each other with worry.

" Guys! We're back!" I shouted, hoping for an answer. There was no answer. We walked into the living room. And what I saw......... was my worst fear.....
