In the original, this is where we start getting introduced to the ridiculous plotline where the boys suddenly get weapons and everything is so... yeah. Anyway, onto the story!

Loke POV
Ever since my memories came rushing back to me, I found myself only thinking of the girl I was once supposed to protect. Only a few days have passed, but I could tell that both Rogue and Jellal were aware of who Lucy was. Which now explains their sudden changes in behavior. Everything did seem hazy at first, and I thought one of the others had slipped me a hallucinogen or something. But the more I observed Lucy, the clearer it became.
"Remember, Leo. You are to protect Lady Lucy at all costs. Lady Layla and Master Jude are entrusting us at the academy to ensure her safety. Understand?"
"I understand, Master Capricorn!"
I remember the exact day Master Capricorn had selected me to be Lucy's bodyguard. I was so excited because Aunt Aquarius was great friends with Lady Layla, and it felt like I was following the Zodiac tradition. But when Lady Layla passed away and Master Jude took over as head of my mission, I felt stuck. He ordered me to watch the rest instead while Lucy went to Phoenix Academy.
I could've easily had Master Capricorn pull me out and replace me, but... I guess pride got the better of me and I followed his command. Forgetting the main purpose I was even sent here for... My memories were wiped, and I was given a new task to ensure the other guys had no clue about Phoenix Academy. Which also included Lucy.

The night of my monthly report arrived and I headed to the bar that designated our meeting spot. Sitting in his usual spot was Master Capricorn, full suit and all. I sat myself right next to him, ordering a glass of whiskey from the bartender. "You're late."
"Sorry, Master. Some things came up, so it was difficult to get away this time." I sighed. "But this report was especially important."
"Oh? Did something new happen other than their ongoing stream of detention?"
"Well, I failed to mention this last month, but we gained a new roommate. Lucy Heartfilia." As soon as I said her name, I could feel him tense in his spot. "Sorry, it took me this long to recognize the boss' daughter."
"You weren't supposed to anyway. How in the world did you remember Lady Lucy?"
"That's what I wanted to report. She revealed to the others that she went to Phoenix Academy previously. But only because Natsu was trying to see if she knew Zeref."
