It is all about the dance!

REVISION COMPLETE 6/4/24: Instead of making it so the guys are planning the dance because of detention (which did not make sense in the slightest), I decided to switch it up! This chapter now focuses more on the girls' interactions and dynamics. Also, above is the new dorm layout!

I'm also gonna try and dive into the past of the boys and the girls they bullied. While it doesn't make sense for the girls to root for their friend to date their former bully (believe me, I've been through a similar situation), Erza has no doubt been vouching and vowing that the boys were never like that before. After all, they were childhood friends. And more than anything, the girls just want to move past that part of their youth.

REMEMBER: practically all characters are over the age of 21, or about to be 21. Most of the bullying took place when they were teenagers.

"Thanks for helping us out, Lucy! I don't think we could've gotten more done without you guys..." Wendy thanked me as we headed down the hall. A few days ago, Wendy and Juvia asked me to help them set up for the spring celebration. Because Fiore Academy houses students ranging from 16 to 26, it's hard to plan events that fit each grade. So, Gramps decided to have a seasonal celebration. One in the winter, one in the spring.

According to the girls, it's a big deal. A field day festival during the day, and then a semi-formal dance and buffet in the gym in the evening. This is so the younger ones can participate. After the dance, though, the older students have their own party at the dorm clubhouse. That's the only thing completely student-led since Gramps doesn't want responsibility for drunken messes.

"It's no problem! This is going to be my first time going to something like this, so being able to help is even more exciting!" I smiled. Right now, we're gathering all of the supplies for inventory. I extended the help invitation to the guys since a lot of the decor is heavy. Unsurprisingly, only Jellal and Rogue were willing to help. No doubt the rest are at the dorm playing video games or something... "Based on all these decorations, it looks like it will be underwater-themed!"

"I know right? Once we're done getting everything into the event committee's club room, we're gonna go shopping for our dresses! Do you want to join us, Lucy?" Juvia giggled.

I looked down at my box, thinking for a second. "I don't know... I've gotta get to the dorm and-"

"Don't worry about us, Lu. Rogue and I can handle dinner tonight." Jellal interrupted me from behind. He and Rogue were each carrying a couple of tables (A/N: the foldable plastic kinds... still heavy tho...). "You go have fun with the girls."

"Yeah. I'll be sure to save you a plate." Rogue added. "Can't say it won't be as good as your cooking, though."

"Are you sure? I was supposed to make chicken alfredo with Gray tonight..." I mumbled, but sighed when they didn't budge. "Fine, as long as you don't burn down the kitchen. And tell Gray we can cook the alfredo tomorrow."

"Yeah, yeah. Just go out and have fun shopping." Rogue scoffed.

We all ended up at the event committee room in no time, where VP Mira was already counting the other boxes. Considering this is our 7th trip today, she cut us early. And so, even after heading to the dorms to change, the girls and I were out shopping by 5 pm! Erza was on the disciplinary committee, so she was still busy. Lisanna and Kinana were still at cheerleading practice, so it was just me, Levy, Wendy, Juvia, and Cana.

Since this is an academic town, most shops and restaurants have lowered prices. I guess it's mostly doable through some contract with Fiore Academy or something. Which, by the way, also means expensive things like prom dresses and fancy dinners are A LOT cheaper. So, a lot of students end up saving part of their allowance for the spring and winter celebrations. Specifically, Wendy has been saving to get the perfect dress. She apparently was in the hospital last year, so this is going to be both of our first!
