REVISION COMPLETE 5/14/24: Even though the story line will be completely different, I will probably still keep the original chapter titles. Or at the very least keep record of it. This chapter isn't really about Ginger, but he still plays a significant role!

There is also going to be a different backstory than what is mentioned later on in "Past." And instead of the boys already knowing Lucy's past, I'm going to have it so they regain memories of her! Honestly, this makes a way better plotline... ENJOY!

"LUUUUUCCCCYYYYY" A little blonde girl suddenly looked up from her book to see a red-haired girl running toward her.

"Oh, boy, here she comes..." Little Lucy looked beside her where Little Gray was. Little Gray wasn't reading a book, but was drawing in the dirt right next to his friend.

Little Lucy giggled, "Good morning, Erza!!" She smiled, as Little Erza finally got up the hill. Right behind her were Little Natsu and Little Jellal.

"I got you ice cream, Luce! Here you go!" Little Natsu grinned, handing over the popsicle.

"Oi! What about me?!"

"You don't get anything, icy pops!"

"What'd you call me, pinky?!" Little Gray instantly stood up, butting heads with Little Natsu. Only for the two to be knocked out by Little Erza.

"Geez, these two just ruined a lovely day." She huffed, taking a seat next to Little Lucy. "What're reading?"

"Laxus gave me this light novel about a prince and his double life as a merchant! It's so good!"

"Oh, yeah, where is that old geezer anyway?" Little Jellal asked as he took the other side. Little Lucy shrugged.

"I think his dad wanted to bring him to some sort of training ground..." Little Erza said, though hesitant at first. At this, the group of kids suddenly became tense. "Do you think he's going to make Laxus go to the academy?"

"I hope not... I don't want to forget about him..." Little Lucy frowned, staring at her open book. But she soon shut it, putting a smile back on. "Let's not think about it and go play!"

Just as fast as they were disheartened, the little kids were up and running throughout the park. There, they ran into the rest of their future group. Little Loke made friends with Little Gray at the swing, while Little Natsu obviously picked a fight with Little Gajeel and Little Sting at the slides. Little Erza and Little Lucy were in the sandbox together and Little Jellal, being the second oldest, was sitting under the entire playplace where he met a Little Rogue.

"No way, you're reading that book too?" Little Jellal exclaimed when he saw Little Rogue pull out a familiar novel.

"Y-You read Dutiful Sinners?"

"Huh? Oh, not me. My best friend does! She was reading it earlier!"

"O-Oh... sorry, I thought-"

"Want me to introduce you to her? She's been looking for a reading buddy."

"Really...? You'd do that?"

"Duh! It'll make her happy!" Little Jellal grinned, grabbing onto Little Rogue's hand and dragging him over to where the two little girls were. "Hey, Lu! Guess what!"

"What is it, Jelly Bean?" Little Lucy pouted as she looked up. But her eyes landed on the cover of Rogue's book in hand. In almost an instant, her eyes began to shine and she jumped up. "You read Dutiful Sinners, too?! No way, I can't believe I found another sinner!"
