{also this is unedited so sorry for all the mistakes and some things not accurate! I'm currently in the process of editing it so if it confuses you at all, that is why!!}Tasmina Lopez started laughing at her brother from up in a tree that was in her garden, "Carlos!"
He laughed, "Taz, get down from dere or mamá is going to kill jou." He said acting like a father.
Taz just stared at him, "if I get down, she'll make me get ready for my party and I really don't want to do that. Especially that estúpido dress. So I'm just gunna stay up here por favor and gracias."
Carlos sighed, "jour dress isn't that bad Taz. Just put it on, jou look beautiful in it."
Taz usually hated it when people gave her compliments but she didn't usually mind it from her family, any other person she would want to punch. "Gracias, but I would have to do all the stuff, so pretend I'm not here." She weakly laughed.
Carlos laughed, "and me talking to a tree is normal? Wow mamá must be loco if she thinks me talking to a tree is normal."
Taz laughed too. "Fine," she sighed, giving up, "I'll get ready. But only because, like jou said, if I come to her with a bruise or a scratch, she'll kill me."
Carlos laughed a bit, "Okay than go get ready." He smiled before leaving his little sister to get down herself, he knew she could handle it.
Taz climbed down the tree and thought while walking to the door how her party will go, compliments after compliments, girly gift after gift.... she wasn't too fond of the idea of having this "big coming-of-age party", but it was family tradition. She had to, for her mother, mostly.
Once she got to the door Taz's mamá gave her a look, "Tasmina!" Taz hated when people called her her full name, "Where were jou? Jou need to get ready for jour party!"
"Lo siento mamá. I was in the garden." She weakly replied, but before she could explain any more, Taz was pulled up the stairs and into her bedroom being forced to get into her dress.
Tasmina have a disgusted face at the dress before putting it on, but her mother told her she must wear it and forced her into the poofy dress. When she was done getting dressed in that huge dress of red, she walked out and slowly got down the stairs, into the living room where her family was sitting around. Her father Juan was reading the newspaper, her two brothers José and Carlos were having a thumb wrestling match but soon looking at her like they were about laugh, she gave them a glare, and her mamá was getting up and walking towards her.
"Aw, mija, jou look beautiful," she cupped her face as she lovingly looked at her daughter.
"thank jou, mamá." She sighed.
Her mamá then pulled her into the restroom and put makeup on her, she wanted her to look her best for the party. "Por favor, stay still!" Her mamá half yelled.
"Lo siento." Taz mumbled.
Once her mom was done putting makeup on her daughter she started messing with her long, dark, black hair. "Mamá?" Taz asked.
"Sì mija?" She answered.
Taz was worried. One of her friends from school took a trip recently to Cancún, about a 6 hour car ride from where the Lopez family lived, for a vacation, and there had been a robot attack, thankfully her friend got out of there. Currently the world had been facing a war against the robots, but it was the final straw, there was only one more battle station that had robots, and it was soon to be destroyed by the Starship Rangers (her father had told her this just weeks ago), but that didn't stop her worrying. They still hadn't found the plantation and it could attack anywhere in Mexico at any moment.
"What if there is another robot attack? There has been a few these past months." Taz looked up to her mamá, with concerned eyes.
"Mija, don't worry about that." She reassured her daughter, Taz looked back down to the ground.
"Are jou sure?" Taz tried to work out an answer, and later, she thought maybe if she could freak out her mother she wouldn't have to have this big party.
Her mamá sighed, "There will be Starship Rangers here-"
"Starship Rangers!? Really!?" Taz said excitedly. She had always wanted to be a starship ranger but would never get the permission. You had to be seventeen or older to join without parent permission, and her mother would never let her join.
"-yes. Jou're papá, jou know, works with them and invited them to come just in case." She gave her daughter a sad smile, "he knew that might be worried from what your friend went through."
"Wow" Taz thought, "real starship rangers at my Quinceañera."
"And tonight, you will be dancing with your father... and future husband." Her mamá added happily.
"Oh yeah, dancing." Taz thought, she had forgotten that it is tradition to dance with your father, then the myth that you then dance with the man that you would marry in the future.
"Maybe you could dance with one of the Starship Rangers?" Her mamá said with a smirk.
Taz just smiled and felt a tug, "¡AY!" Taz yelled.
"Lo siento cariño" her mamá said guilty. A few minutes later she had put Taz's beautiful long hair into a bun, "dere we go, all done mija. Time for jour party to start." She smiled and walked out of the bathroom.
"Already?" Taz mumbled to herself while getting up off the stool in the bathroom and walking back up to her room. She looked through her window, "so many people already..."
She said to herself as her brother Carlos walked in, "Hey Tazzie," he said smiling as she turned around.
"Don't call me 'Tazzie'" she said punching her fists together. Carlos was her closest brother, José was younger than her and Carlos was older than her. Carlos had always wanted to become a starship ranger like her father but never got to, he was only two years older than Taz, but their parents would never let them join. Her father had gave Carlos a box full of Starship Ranger stuff and his old uniform. Carlos had treasured it because he really wanted to join, but he was still 16 and needed parent permission. He was turning 17 in a month, and he was excited to join.
"Woah woah, okay fine, I won't." He said while putting his hands up in surrender, "But mamá wants jou downstairs for jour party. Your family, your chosen court, and me, your man of honor are waiting for you..." he smiled, "And the Starship Rangers are here!" He added excitedly.
"They're here!?" She asked excitedly.
"Sì mi hermana"
"Okay, I guess I'm ready then." she shrugged with a smile.
"Come, I'll walk jou down" he said with a smile, offering his arm to her.
"Gracias mi hermano" Taz smiled back as they latched arms, and started to walk down the stairs into the backyard where the people were waiting for the girl of the hour.
