Chapter 18 - Stuck

Taz woke up excited for the day. She ran to breakfast and sat at her usual table. She actually ate today knowing that she really hasn't eaten anything for the past two days and she was starving! She eats up quickly forgetting about Parker.

He soon comes through the door by the end of Taz eating her meal, "Hey Taz!" He said going up to the table.

"Hola." She covers her mouth to say then continues to eat.

"I'll be right back." He says and runs to get food before Taz even breaks out the "O" of "Okay".

In no time, he came back with a full plate of food, "There we go." He laughs. He felt an awkward vibe between them but he tried not to think about it, hoping they were still friends that never considered each other anything else other than friends. He finally spoke, "sorry about-"

"No need to apologize. We're friends, good?" Taz asked more as a statement.

"Best friends." He smiled.

Taz had a slight smile on her face but lowered at as time passed. They talked more and more.

"So, today's your last day of teaching?" He asked sounding sad.

"Sì." She sighed, "It was fun to bust those idiotas.." what she didn't say out loud was that she would miss the watch that she got to wear for being a teacher. Being able to contact everyone was very helpful, but she had to give it back sadly. Oh she hoped she could wear it again someday...

"I'm going to miss you being the teacher." He said.

"Me too but, we get to learn a lot more from Up."

"Yeah. I like Up a lot. He's a great teacher. He knows his stuff."

"I like Up." She said not thinking, "OH SHIT!" She thought but talked again, "he's an amazing teacher." She covered up quickly.

Parker smiled at her, but this was normal. She knew Parker so well it was like her to Up.

Soon the bell rang to go to their classes and as usual, Taz ran to be first as the teacher again.

Up, Commander Valor, and the crew had been searching on the planet all day yesterday and had been tired. Their feet hurt and a few people had sunburns. It wasn't too hot but it was at least 80° with a breeze which made it cooler.

As they loaded onto the ship ready to leave something shook the ship. "Hold on everyone. Slight technical difficulties." The sound system spoke.

They soon were able to go up but within a few seconds the Starship slam backdown, hopefully not breaking the ship. "What's going on?" An advanced Ranger asked Up, the Lieutenant.

"I'll handle it," he started to speak loud to the ship, "EVERYONE STAY CALM AND STAY SEATED!" He yelled to the whole crew putting his hands out to direct. Everyone had been freaking out and talking non-stop.

"I'm going to the front. I'll be back. Keep an eye out." Commander Valor said to Up.

Up didn't speak. He gave him a curt nod and proceeded to look at the crew.

The Commander ran up to the front of the ship where two people were sitting, frantically looking of how to fix this problem. The ship captains were looking through papers, buttons, and much much more.

"What's going on?" Asked the commander.

"We don't know..." one turned to commander then turned to his buddy, "is it the warp crystals? The power fuel?"
