Things started to go fine at the GLEE once everything was set on its tracks. The new freshmen came and Taz taught PE for Mr. Valor and Up continued to each his combat one class. Parker's senior year was also going along well, being friends with the Lieutenant was a plus, he understood that now.

Taz and Parker sat in his room playing checkers one evening where they talked about things that Taz hadn't brought up.

"You and Up kissed!?" Parker looked at Taz wide-eyed in shock throwing his checker piece down.

"Sí—I wasn't expecting it though..." Taz lightly let go of her own.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner!?"

"It happened..." she tried to think, "Not that long ago..." he gave her a stern look and she sighed putting her hands up in defense, "and I didn't want people knowing—"

"But I'm one of your best friends!" He complained.

"Sí... I don't know... I just didn't."

"Wait... is that why Up has been acting that way with you?"

"What way?" Taz asked genuinely confused.

"He acts all flirtatious and awkward." He laughs.

"So jou two years ago." She jokes plainly.

"Hey—we don't speak of that time." He chuckles, "but if that's how you understand it then, yes. Why aren't you two dating again?"

"Parker jou cabrón... We're the higher officers. He's de Commander, I'm de Lieutenant! We're supposed to be professionals here..."

"That doesn't matter!" He chuckles, "but, you guys need to follow your hearts."

"Imagine the pain when one of us have to leave or—or if one of us... passes away even..."

"Don't say that, Taz." He eyes grew hopeful, "Life's too short to make it shorter."

"Dat made no sense."

"You don't make sense." He said jokingly.

"Jou don't make sense."

"Oh but I do... moy bine"

"Don't jou mean, 'muy bien'." She said plain faced.

"No..." he said slowly and shook his head a little.

"Do jou even know what dat means?" She laughed.

"Sí." He said quickly.

"What den."

"Uh... some clues please?"

"It means 'very good'." She laughs.

"Oh. Yeah. I knew that."

"Sí, Sí, sure jou did." She laughed, "but, what jou're trying to say—we just can't."

"You know I don't like the word 'can't'! The word 'can't' is for amateurs! Can't is a word for a man who's been beaten and broken!" Parker jumped up, "Don't say 'can't' 'cause you can! You can do everything, Taz."
