Chapter 32 - Inseparable

Three days passed and Taz was facing the Starship she knew and loved, 15-a2.

She had been on many missions in this ship but never without her partner in crime. As she stood in 'awe' of the ship, more of the rangers passed her as she yelled at them to hussle. She didn't know how to think at this time as she looked back at Up who was waving a farewell. She needed Up and she was going to be gone for a year. She looked back at the ship and dropped her things running back into the arms of the man who saved her life hundreds of times.

"Taz," he chuckled, enjoying the embrace, "You have to go now."

"It's so hard to leave without jou... I'm jour Lieutenant."

"Best Friend."

"Amante."

"Now what does that mean?" he chuckled, having to ask this question contantly.

"Dat's for me to know and for jou to find out." She laughed but her laughter diled down, "Hey... Mírame." Up looked down at the small girl still wrapped around is waist, "I'll miss jou, Up." she said now looking down, "To think, jou just got better and I was going to help jou and now I have to leave—"

"Taz." she looked up, "It's fine." he chuckled, "When you're gone I'll try to build myself up... not that it'll go well but I'll try." he laughed but grew serious, putting his hands on her shoulders, looking into her eyes, "But, if you ever need anything or you're sad or just miss me, just call me. I'll always pick up."

"Gracias, Up." She smiled and hugged him again, "¡adiós!" She ran off towards the ship turning around before closing the door, "Te amo."

"Bye Taz..." He said slowly, and before he knew it, the ship was ready for take off and wouldn't see his friend for a long time.

Once the ship was about to leave, Taz poked her head through the small window and waved as Up waved back and walked off.

Taz sat in the starship as it rode off into space towards earth where she was needed. She talked along the rangers and gave them their orders, but once done, she had nothing else to do besides sitting in her own thoughts that for sure would kill her. Just to think about her family and Parker was too much to bare now, it would break her. Thinking about Up's injury, watching it all happen, too hurt to even go save the man who saved her life from robots... and now he is one.

She sat there, taking in the beautiful senory of stars and darkness that only showed through the window. The closer they got to earth, the more anxious she'd become. Though she loved to fight and would never back down to one, she just wanted to go home, not just for Up.

Up sat in his room looking at everything in the room, without Taz everything felt quiet, relaxed, calm... but he hated it. Taz was the fire in his life and he needed to keep warm... but he was now cold and... soft.

As days passed, Up tried to get back to his old self, but every time he'd try to pick up a weight at the gym or even the mirror that his doctor gave him, he'd prick his finger and do it at 'a later time' or yell at himself until he cries.

At the rehabiliation center, they gave him that small mirror and told him to say good things to himself in it to encourage him and others... but that always ended with tears.

Taz did not know any of this for when she called him, it would be night time and he laid on his back on the bed all alone.

Taz disliked the mission she was on, barley any fighting, so she would rant to Up every night as he laid and listened.

Christmas was comng around the corner and break has started for the kids at the achdemy. Up was packaging up the presents to send to his family back in Alabama when his radio, playing all holiday tunes, turned on one of his old favorites, "The Christmas Shoes" by NewSong. He started to sing along until it hit him that by the end, the mother basically dies in it. Breaking down crying, and not knowing why it could make him break, he realized how sad this song actually was and how it was even concidered one of his favorites. He quickly turned off the radio and curled up in a ball, tears streaming down his face.
