Taz started walking down the stairs into her living room where Up was standing, looking at her. Up was surprised by her appearance, she had just lost everything and now she is this tough girl.
"You look great." Up said with a smile.
Taz smiled, "gracias Up." She said with her fists together behind her back trying not to punch him for the complement.
"Let's sit, they won't be here for a while." Up said going to sit in a little destroyed chair. Up thought about how they were going to give Taz to an orphanage, he didn't want that to happen. She was so different from others that Up didn't want her to go.
After a few minutes, the Starship was here to pick them up.
The commander came out, Taz read his name tag in her head, "Commander Valor" and saw the name "Starship 15-a2" printed on the ship.
"Hello Taz. I'm sorry for your family." He says quickly not spending too much time on her and turns to Up, "Dr. Space-Claw wants to see all of us, lieutenant, show her the way to the video call wall." Commander Valor said.
"Yes sir." Up said and saluted to him as he grabbed Taz's arm and started walking her into the starship and to the video call wall.
"Where are jou talking me?" Taz asked.
"To the video call wall, Dr. Space-Claw wants to met you." He said with a smile.
Taz thought about it for second and nodded. She thought of what he would look like on the way there. Soon Up and Taz were there standing in front of a screen. The commander was already there and talking to Dr. Space-Claw.
"Oh! Dr. Space-Claw, this is Taz. The only survivor besides Up." The commander said.
"Hello there, Taz? Taz right?" Dr. Space-Claw said. Taz nodded, "so this is the only survivor?"
"Yeah. All of her family and friends are gone, everyone is gone." Commander Valor said, "she has no parents now so we have to send her to an orphanage-"
Taz interrupted, "-NO! I don't wanna go to an orphanage!"
"Don't make her go to an orphanage..." Up said quietly.
"Silence." Space-Claw said, "Taz, you can't live on your own, you're not old enough yet."
"I know, but I'll find somewhere, I don't wanna go into an orphanage." Taz said.
"But Taz, that's your only option." Commander Valor said.
"No! No! I'll find somewhere. I'll-I'll go-I'll-um-go-" Taz started mumbling.
"She'll be a starship ranger and train with me." Up said standing forward with confidence.
"But she is only 15, you have to be 17 or older to join the Starship Ranger academy. She is far to young..." Commander Valor said and started to trail off.
"Up, you would have to take care of her. You sure?" Dr. Space-Claw said ignoring the commander's comment.
"Yes." Up paused and looked at Taz who had a big smile on her face, "I will help her out at the academy, I will train her to be the best ranger there has ever been." He said looking back at Space-Claw.
"Okay than, Up. She is allowed to join the academy, our youngest student ever to train." Space-Claw said, "Well then, that's all I had to say. Goodbye, see you soon Taz." And with a wave the screen was off.
"Oh mi dios! Muchas gracias Up!" Taz said turning to Up and hugging him.
"Oh." Up was surprised by the hug but returned it, "no problem Taz."
"Up, the new arrivers for the academy are coming tomorrow and we'll have our assembly, give them schedules so they can visit their classes, and get everyone sorted into their dorms." Commander said back, "Taz will have to stay over with you tonight."
"No problem commander." Up said waving and taking Taz over to his room.
They walked down a few corridors and soon got to Up's room. Room 25a. "Here we are." Up said while opening the door.
"Gracias again Up for one saving me and two helping me become a starship ranger, I've always wanted to be one my whole life." Taz said happily.
"No problem Taz. It's what I do." He paused letting her in, "here we go."
As Taz walked in she saw a sign on his door, "Lieutenant Up". She smiled at the sight of it and walked in. There was one bed, a closet, a mini sofa, a bathroom, and a mini tv.
"I'll let you sleep in my bed. I'll sleep on the sofa." Up said with a smile, "Tomorrow, you'll be with other girls in your own room." Taz groaned at that, "What's up with that?" Up asked.
"I don't like girls, dey are to annoying." Taz said groaning again.
"Don't worry, some of these girl will be nice." Up said comforting her.
"I know but I've always only had boy friends 'cause dey are way easier den girls." Taz said truthfully. She only played with guys, she would kick their asses at fighting and sports.
"Don't worry, you'll make lots of new friends here." Up said with a smile.
"I'll try but I'm not very good at making friends." Taz said truthfully again. She would punch whoever got on her nerves and that wouldn't be fun.
"Oh it's okay. I'll help you out." Up paused looking around, "How about we get some rest? We've had a long day." Up looked up at the clock, 10pm.
Up grabbed some other pants and shirt for night and changed in his restroom. When he got out he asked, "you want something to change into?"
Taz looked at her clothes for second before answering, "Sì, por favor." Knowing that she'll need them tomorrow. He passed her one of his huge Galactic league shirts and shorts that were too small for him now. She got dressed in the restroom and came out looking different than she was again.
"Goodnight Taz." Up said getting situated for bed as he smiled at Taz in his old clothes.
Taz got into his bed and pulled the covers over, "Buenas noches, Up." Taz said and soon they both fell asleep.
