After catching up on my sleep I woke up at midday, happy to find out that while we were at coachella Lisa had stopped drinking again. Her periods of drinking were decreasing in length, so it filled me with hope that one day she'd stay sober.

Lisa cooked us all pancakes while we told her and my mom all about coachella and how amazing it was. After an inner debate I even took the time to tell them about the whole Chris situation.

"What a jerk!" Lisa snapped flipping a pancake, I nodded in agreement.

"He was so hot though." I groaned resting my elbow on the counter and slumping my face onto my hand. A strange noise escaped Alec's throat beside me, most likely due to his hate for Chris.

"I told her he was a jerk from the beginning." Alec told them both proudly "She just wouldn't listen." He added looking down at me with a smirk.

"Whatever, I still got to kiss a hot guy." I shrugged, holding my plate out to Lisa so she could put pancakes on it and thanking her.

Since me and Alec were still tired mom and Lisa decided we were having a family game night for few hours, before they went out. I couldn't believe it when they told me they were going out with a few of their girl friends, they hadn't since we were kids, before Lisa became an alcoholic. At first I was worried that Lisa would drink again, but mom assured me that it wasn't that type of girls night.

"YESSS! I win!" My mom cheered as she beat us all at a long ass game of monopoly. Honestly why does the game take so long, I think it was the first time I'd ever sat through a full game. Alec had given up halfway through and had settled on judging everyone's tactics and scrolling through his phone.

Yawning, I stretched my arms out then helped everyone pack up the game. Shortly after Mom and Lisa retreated up stairs to get ready, so Alec flopped himself on the main sofa like a starfish and put Netflix on the TV. Rolling eyes at him I pushed his legs off the sofa and sat down, his legs immediately rested on my lap. Bitch.

"Take pictures of us kiddies." Lisa sang in complete joy as soon as her and my moms heels were heard stepping into the passage. The credits for grown ups had just began rolling down the screen, so their timing was perfect.

Turning around I smiled at both of them seeing them all dressed up "You look beautiful!" I told them standing up so I could snap some pictures of them posing on Lisa's phone. For women in their forties they still managed to slay my existence.

"Ok so call us if you need any thing!" My mom told us after they said their final goodbyes, waving at us as they left the house in excitement. I smiled watching them leave, feeling happy for them.

"How about we watch some scary films?" Alec asked with a smirk not even waiting for my answer before clicking on to the conjuring 2, which I hadn't came around to watch yet. "Sure." I nodded, silently shuffling closer to him.

Before watching scary movies I always acted willing and unafraid, but during and after watching them I was terrified. For example if I went to the bathroom during the night, afterwards I would run back to my bed, terrified something in the shadows would get me.

"That nun is scary as shit!" I yelled out at the TV pushing myself closer to Alec, with a pillow covering half my face. Laughter escaped Alec's lips as he watched me. How wasn't he terrified?

Alec's laughed at me the whole way through, seemingly unfazed by anything scary. Somewhere in the middle of the film I found myself squashed up against Alec's side looking for some form of comfort.
