Nine

I woke up upset that it was the last day of coachella, but also with a weight around my waist. Flicking my eyes down I noticed Alec's arm wrapped tightly around my waist causing me to chuckle. His arm tightened as I tried to pull away and I laughed again. Turning my body around to face him, I smiled as his sleeping state. Unlike when he was awake he looked so relaxed and peaceful as if everything was right in the world.

"Alec." I whispered stroking his arm gently. Giggling I watched as his face scrunched up a
few times before his eyes flickered open and he looked at me in shock. Pointing down as his arm I let out a laugh "Can you let me go, I'd like to shower." Alec's cheeks blushed red as he he moved his arm causing me to giggle.

We all wrapped our arms around each other and swayed to the music, it felt like my heart was pounding to the rhythm of the beat and I felt so completely happy. Lights danced around the audience and people bounced beach balls through the crowd, it was amazing.

"I can't believe this is the last day." Olivia shouted over the music with a pout, I nodded in agreement. "Coachella forever." Keaton said raising his drink in the air, we all raised our drinks too, to please his weird ways and crashed our cups together. I was almost completely sure he was referencing Spring breakers .

"Are you ok?" Alec asked stroking my back and looking down at me with a smile. Smiling up at him I nodded. "You're coming to see ice cube with me right?" He asked and I nodded.

I screamed in excitement grasping on to Alec's hand and jumped up and down watching an NWA reunion on the stage, despite being too young to have known them when they were together. Alec was just excited but he has to keep up his cool guy persona so he just squeezed my hand and smiled down at me. We held hands and sang along with the songs. I felt so free and happy.

"I wish we were here in 2012 when they did the Tupac hologram!" I yelled to Alec over the music, he agreed with a nod.

Flinging my arms around in the air, I explained my excitement to Alec about the show as we walked to get a drink, he continuously told me "I know I was there." with a chuckle

"It was-" I stopped in my tracks as my eyes landed upon something that I didn't like. "What-" Alec followed me eyes before they landed upon what I was seeing. Chris. Chris with his arms around another girl, kissing her. Sadness pooled inside of me as I watched him pull away with a smile, stroking his hand against the girls cheek. I felt sad and guilty. What if that girl was his girlfriend? Had I helped him cheat?

Alec puffed his chest out storming towards him, ready to fight. Grabbing his arm I stopped him in his tracks and shook my head at him "He's not worth it, lets just go."

"Are you sure you're ok?" Alec asked me again as he packed everything into the car. Nodding silently I smiled at him for being so sweet.

With a few strides he stepped in front of me wrapping his arm around me and using the other to lift up my chin so I was looking into his eyes "Are you sure?" He asked again. Smiling I nodded looking into his mesmerising brown eyes. A gasp escaped my lips when his eyes flickered down focusing on my lips. I realised I was looking at his when his tongue pocked out and swiped across his plump lips, wetting them. A thick tension settled in the air, and my body felt as though it was on fire.

"Coachella." Keaton yelled the others joining in as they walked towards us, causing Alec and I to jump away from each other.

"Did you guys have fun?" I chuckled watching as they all tried but failed to walk in a straight line. "The best!" Taylor replied and I chuckled in response.

Keaton stumbled his way into the car followed by Taylor, Olivia and Jess who were all equally as drunk. I shook my head at them all.

My eyes threatened to shut as we drove away from Coachella, everyone except Alec who was driving was asleep. I wanted to sleep but I had to make sure Alec didn't sleep.

"Do you want to switch half way there." I asked Alec with a yawn. Shaking his head, he chuckled at me. "I can handle it." He tapped my knee gently and I smiled tiredly at him. I probably couldn't handle it.

"You get that off soon right?" Alec asked motioning towards the cast on my hand, I had become so used to it that I usually forgot about it. Nodding I wiggled my fingers in the cast "In a couple days."

"Are you sure you're ok?" He asked for the millionth time, I just rolled my eyes at him and smiled.

"He's a jerk you know." Alec added after a few minutes of silence "He could've had you and he blew it." He explained glancing into my eyes for a second before looking back at the road. A strange feeling erupted into me stomach and I smiled at Alec grabbing his free hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. "Thank you." I whispered.

"So what's going on with you and Alec?" Olivia whispered as we unpacked everything from the car. My brows furrowed "Nothing." I said glancing over at Alec who was hugging my mom. She had already attacked me with her hugs and kisses.

"Yeah right!" Olivia said with a laugh "I heard you two talking on the drive home." She teased. Shaking my head I looked away from her, noticing that the sun was rising and I hadn't slept at all. Glancing to my right I saw Jess giving me a knowing look, most likely knowing what Olivia said and I rolled my eyes. Taylor and Keaton were resting against the car with their heads in their hands most likely hungover, waiting for Keaton's dad to come and get the car to take them home.

"Aren't you the one who said we're "basically siblings"?" I asked with a shiver just thinking about it. Shrugging Olivia smirked at me "Maybe I changed my mind."
