After seeing the picture of Alec and the blond girl, I moped around the house for a few hours. My mom demanded that I started getting ready for an annual charity event we had been invited to a few months ago, selfishly I had completely forgotten about it. As much as I didn't want to go, I knew I had to. Part of me was also stupidly hoping to catch a glimpse of Alec.

"You better start getting ready." My mom demanded one last time before leaving my room. I checked the time to see that it was 4pm, and rolled my eyes the event started at 7pm. For some reason my mom thinks I take half a day to get ready.

Opening the group chat, I messaged all my friends to make sure they were coming to the event. A private message from Taylor popped up asking me to be his date, a faint smile spread across my face as I agreed.

"Damn girl, is that your dress!" Olivia gasped pointing to the red dress hung on the door, I nodded in excitement. Olivia let out a low whistle and nodded in approval.

"I'm so glad you guys came here to get ready." I smiled looking around my room at Jess and Olivia who were both applying their makeup like me. I settled on a smoky eye and some sheer pink lips, my hair was curled and swept to the side, in what I would like to think was an elegant style.

Spraying my setting spray on, I looked around at Jess and Olivia seeing them both doing the final touches of their makeup. Checking the time I gasped seeing that it was 6:30pm. Quickly spraying some hairspray onto my hair, I jumped up grabbing my dress asking Olivia and Jess to help me put it on.

The dress was a strapless fitted red dress, that flared out and the bottom in folds, making the dress mermaid shaped. Jess and Olivia complemented me before slipping into their dresses. Olivia looked gorgeous in a slim fitting sequenced dress, and so did Jess in her black silk dress with a gold detailed belt. My friends were goddesses.

My mom stepped into my room looking beautiful in a little black dress, still slaying everyone in her 40's.

"You look beautiful." Taylor gasped when we opened the door causing a deep blush to spread across my cheeks. "You look great too." I mumbled shyly, feeling everyone's eyes on us. "What about me?" Keaton cut in pushing his way forward to hug me. "You always look great." I told him. Raising his shoulder he smirked as if to say 'I know'.

"Wow." I gasped as we stepped into the building, looking around and the elegant gold and red decorations and the large chandelier that hung from the ceiling. The place was intimidating, I felt as though I didn't belong.

Taylor linked my arm giving me a smile before guiding me through the building. We passed rows of stalls for multiple charities, donating as much money as we could afford, before we made our way in the main room.

I gasped seeing the red carpet that led down the stairs to the party below, I felt like I was at some type of celebrity event where I didn't fit in. Taylor held my hand while Keaton held my dress as I descended the stairs, I couldn't help but laugh. "How does it feel being my bitch?" I whispered to Keaton over my shoulder. "I'll rip your dress." He threatened through gritted teeth causing me to laugh again.

The room had high ceilings and an antique look contrasting the tables scattered across the room decorated with balloons and confetti. A large dance floor was placed in the centre of the room directly in front of the bar where it seemed as though most of the party was located.

My mom scurried off with a group of friends, smiling when she saw them, I smiled seeing her happy. Taylor pointed out an empty table, Keaton ran towards it with a shriek I rolled my eyes at him, letting Taylor guide me with his hand placed against my back.

"Do you want a drink." He asked pulling out a chair for me. Smiling I nodded thanking him for his kind gesture.

While the others went to the bar, I sat with Jess tapping my foot to the music scanning the party with my eyes. I smiled watching everyone having fun until Alec and the blond girl caught my attention, causing my heart to sink. Willing myself not to cry, I looked away from them smiling at Jess who gave me a sad smile. She knew.

"Here you go." Taylor said placing my drink on the table, thanking him I took a sip. "Should we dance?" Taylor asked holding a hand out for me. "Hell yeah!" Keaton cheered running past us to the dance floor where Cheap Thrills was playing. Accepting Taylor's offer I took one last sip of my drink before I stood up. I straightened out my dress getting frustrated as I tried and failed to fix the trail. Taylor chuckled and fixed it for me in one swift motion causing me to blush.

I held Taylor's hands swaying my hips to the music and singing along, laughing at Keaton who danced around the whole dance floor bumping in to almost everyone. Silently, I thanked god that modern music was playing, rather than old ballroom music. A pair of hands squeezed my shoulder, I looked behind me smiling at Jess and Olivia. Letting go of one of Taylor's hands I stepped back allowing them to dance with us.

Taylor smiled when the song changed to a slow song, pulling me closer to him and wrapping my hands around his neck. I gulped in nervousness as he stared intently into my eyes. My eyes flickered over his shoulder noticing Alec dance with the blond girl. Jealousy bubbled inside of me as I watched her laugh as he twirled her around.

"I know you still like him." Taylor whispered causing my whole body to stiffen "At first I thought maybe I could make you like me," he continued "but I know that's not going to happen, I just hope I made you happy." A sad smile settled onto my face and a tear slipped down my cheek, Taylor wiped it away as soon as it fell. I felt as though I had been leading him on.

He spun me out and pulled me back into him wiping another tear from my cheek with his thumb causing me to giggle. "You did, you're perfect, I'm sorry. I wanted so badly for it to be you, but I just can't shake him." I said blowing out breath. "One day you're going to make the best boyfriend, and your girlfriend will feel like the luckiest girl in the world." I smiled placing a hand on his cheek watching as his eyes flickered closed for a second "I wish it could be me." I added in a whisper. Taylor smiled placing a kiss on my forehead.

Taylor's eyes flickered over to Alec before resting back on me "Well, we may as well make him jealous right?" His eyes lit up with mischief and he smirked. Chuckling I shook my head "You don't have to." Tutting Taylor shook his head and pulled me closer to him. I looked into his eyes feeling guilty again. "I'll be okay, relax." He whispered before pressing his lips against mine. I giggled before I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck.

Pulling away from Taylor I whispered a thank you and smiled at him appreciatively. He dipped me down causing me to let out a scream, I chuckled steadying myself on his shoulders when he pulled me up.

A tap on my shoulder caught my attention. "Can I cut in?" Alec's deep voice spoke from behind me. A gasp escaped my lips.

Taylor nodded, then winked at me before walking away. I watched Taylor leave with wide eyes before I turned around to face Alec.
