Three years later.

Placing a box down on the floor, I let out a groan. My eyes flickered to my mom and Lisa who were both hugging and crying hysterically.

"I can't believe we're not going to live together anymore!" My mom exclaimed between her sobs. Lisa nodded in agreement, pulling away so they could both calm themselves down.

"I need to do this." Lisa mumbled, the remains of a sob still evident in her voice. Nodding in understanding, my mom wiped the tears from under her eyes.

Strong arms wrapped around my waist, and a kiss was placed against my cheek causing me to smile. Spinning around I placed a kiss against Alec's lips.

"Is it weird that I'm sad for them?" I asked Alec with a chuckle. "I guess it's like the end of an era." He chuckled referencing friends. "They live across the road from each other, they'll be fine." His hand rubbed my back gently and I nodded.

"Shouldn't you two be helping us!" Lisa snapped placing her hands on her hips. Furrowing my brows I let out a laugh "We've been lifting all these boxes, while you two have been sobbing in the corner." I told her motioning to boxes me and Alec had brought into the house. Flushing red, Lisa apologised, walking over to us both and giving us a kiss. "I helped with your flat." She said pointing a finger at us.

A loud noise from outside caught all our attention, causing us all the run to the window. Jeremy was outside my moms house banging on the windows and yelling Lisa's name. All of us gasped at the sight of him, we hadn't seen him in over three years.

"We've have some shitty neighbours, if we can hear from across the street." Alec mumbled causing me to let out a slight chuckle and nod in agreement.

"He looks worse." I observed watching Jeremy stumbling through the front yard, unable to control his actions, I pushed the window open slightly so we could hear. "I think he might be on drugs." Jeremy dropped to the floor struggling to move his legs as he slurred Lisa's name.

Sliding his phone out of his pocket, and typing on his key pad, Alec held up to his ear stepping away from us.

"What do we do?" I asked glancing at my mom and Lisa who were both frozen in shock. Shaking her head my mom sighed "I don't know, I don't think it's a good idea to go over to him."

"I'm definitely not!" Lisa snapped. Ever since rehab she had took pride in her soberness, and had even landed herself a job helping overs overcome their addictions. I smiled at her in complete admiration.

My mom had even landed herself a better job, working in a bank with fewer hours and a better pay. Alec and I had recently graduated from college, I was waiting to find out if I got the job as an assistant producer, hoping to one day work my way up, and Alec was starting to get noticed within the music industry after posting videos online. He had finally let me hear him play.

"The police are coming." Alec suddenly announced stepping back into the room, making his towards us and taking another glance at Jeremy.

We watched Jeremy stand to his feet and make his way over to the door rattling the handle violently trying to get in. "He better not do anything to my house." My mom snapped in frustration.

His fists pounded against the door multiple times and he screamed loudly. Slumping his shoulders he made his way over to the window placing his hands on it as he looked through it screaming Lisa's name, while his body swayed and twitched.

Jeremy screamed Lisa's name one last time before dropping to the ground. I let out a gasp wondering if he was dead.

Red and blue flashing lights caught my eye, the siren echoing through the air. Jeremy lifted himself up from the ground as the police car stopped outside of my moms house. Stumbling over to the police officers, he began yelling profanities at them. The police officers marched towards Jeremy yelling something about noise complaints, while he stumbled around trying to find his balance.

A scream escaped my lips as Jeremy pulled a gun out of his pocket and pointed it at the police officers. My mine raced. Had he always had that? What if he shot one of us?

Another police officer approached Jeremy from behind trying to sneak up on him, but before he could get to him Jeremy spun around lazily and shot him in the arm. The deathly sound echoed through the air causing my heart to pound, the man fell to the floor holding his arm.

Neighbours began stepping out of their houses, fear etched across their faces. I rolled my eyes at them. Now they care.

In fast motions Jeremy was pressed against the floor by the other police officer, his weapon kicked out of his hands, and his arms cuffed together.

My eyes fixed on Jeremy's figure as he was harshly pulled into the back of the police car his body limp as though he had little control over it. Then I watched as the injured officer held his hand against his arm as he got into the car wincing in pain. The sirens began and the lights began flashing as the car took off.

A sudden weight lifted off of my chest as I watched Jeremy get drove away. I assumed shooting a police officer would get him put away for a long time, hopefully he would never reappear into our lives.

The air around us grew thick as we continued starring out the window in shock. "Did that really just happen?" I gasped, hearing everyone mumble a quiet 'yes'.

We stayed silent for a few minutes before I let out a loud scream of excitement causing everyone to look at me in shock. "Jeremy's gone!" I screamed throwing my hands in the air and repeating it again. Smiles spread across everyone's lips as they suddenly understood my excitement, before they all slowly began cheering. Alec wrapped his arms around me, pulling me in the air and spinning me around, before placing a kiss against my lips.

"He's gone!" Lisa yelled pulling us all into a group hug.
