We starred at my mom like deers caught in the headlights. "Well?" She snapped when neither of us answered her question."Um, should we go inside?" I mumbled avoiding my moms stare. Stepping to the side she held the door open, motioning for us to get inside, then slamming it shut behind us.
The three of us made out way to the living room in silence, me and Alec taking a seat opposite my mom. "So?" My mom tapped her feet against the floor, her nerves clear.
"How long has this been going on for?" She demanded making me jump slightly. Pressing his palm against my knee Alec smiled at me "I'm not sure, but we really like each other, I would never hurt-"
Holding up her hand, my mom silenced Alec. Shaking her head she sighed "This needs to stop!"
"What because we live together?" I erupted starring at my mom like she was crazy "You can't decide who my boyfriend is."
"Boyfriend?" She questioned in disbelief with a chuckle. "Yes." I spat "Boyfriend." The room fell silent as my mom looked as both of us in shock.
Standing to her feet she pointed her finger at us "It needs to stop because we're family! You're family!" Rolling my eyes I let out a laugh "We're not related!" I exclaimed.
Holding her hand in her hands my mom shook her head "Pack your bags."
"What?"
"Pack your bags, you're going to live with grandma until I decide what to do!" My mom yelled causing my eyes to widen in shock. I knew she would be mad, but I didn't think she would react like this. I almost wanted to laugh at the way she was reacting.
Shaking my head I sat back down "No." Tears sprung to my eyes as I looked at the anger that spread across my mothers face. "Yes." She demanded, before storming out of the room.
Alec's hand rested against my back as the tears began to fall from my eyes. "What are we going to do?" I sobbed wrapping myself around Alec and breathing in his scent. Stroking my back gently, he let out a sigh "She'll come around baby, I know she will."
"Are you ready?" My mom knocked on my door. Letting out a yawn I mumbled back a yes. This morning she woke me up at 7am so I could pack and leave as soon as possible. Rolling my suitcase out of the door, I let out a sigh.
Appearing out of nowhere, Alec grabbed my suitcase, carrying it down the stairs for me. Thanking him, I pulled him into a hug, using all my strength to not cry.
"It'll be ok babe." Alec whispered stroking his thumb across my cheek. "It's not going to be forever." Nodding I pressed my lips against his, the second our lips touched the honk of the horn outside interrupted us.
I didn't look at my mom the whole ride, refusing to speak to her. When we arrived I stood back while my mom spoke to my grandma waiting until she left to make my way inside.
"Hey grandma!" I smiled bitter-sweetly giving her a hug. She held me in her arms swinging my body side to side causing me to chuckle. "Just think of this as a vacation away from your mom, I know she can be annoying." My grandma winked causing me to burst out laughing.
"Do you want any tea?" My grandma called from the kitchen as I placed my bags in my room. "Coffee please." I called back hearing her chuckle "Right, I forgot."
I descended the stairs taking a seat on the couch looking around at all the photos in my grandma's living room. She even had photos of Lisa and Alec which made me smile. I chuckled at a picture of me and Alec covered in Nutella when we were younger.
"So you and Alec huh?" Grandma smirked handing me my coffee. Thanking her I nodded shyly and smiled at her. She looked at me expectingly and I let out a sigh. "I don't understand why my moms overreacting, were a family but we're not like related." I ranted with a groan, cringing at the thought of me and Alec being related. Her hand patted my knee gently "She'll come around." My grandma sung in her sweet voice, causing me to smile thinking about when Alec said the same thing.
"Do you want me to tell you a secret?" Grandma whispered causing me to nod in excitement. "When you and Alec were born, Lisa and your mom talked about you two getting together someday." She told me causing my eyes to widen and my jaw to drop. "Why is she so mad?" I cried throwing my arms in the air in exasperation.
Shrugging my grandma sipped her tea "When you guys bought a house, they were so excited with the idea of being a family, I guess she changed her mind, and saw you as siblings." A shiver ran through my body at the idea "We'll were definitely not siblings." Giggling my grandma nodded in agreement "So do you think he's cute?" She asked nudging me slightly with her elbow. Looking at her like she was crazy I nodded "Have you seen him?" Laughing, she nodded "He is a handsome young man...and you're a beautiful young lady." Smiling appreciatively I thanked her.
My grandma was amazing, but by 7pm she was in bed and I was bored senseless. Since Alec was back, my friends didn't have to be extra nice to me anymore and could go back to being the bitches that I love, meaning none of them could be bothered making the 15 minute drive to come and see me.
I decided to take a long bubble bath, humming along to my music and reflecting on the day, praying that my mother would pull the stick out of her ass. The way she acted was crazy. A chuckle escaped my lips as I digested the fact that she actually sent me to my grandma's so me and Alec couldn't be with each other. Shaking me head I rolled my eyes.
Please mom.
