My mom stepped into the passage way looking at me in shock, I gawked at her for a second feeling my whole body heat red.

"What are you doing here? Is everything okay?" She asked tentatively, her voice almost a whisper. I remained still for a few seconds before nodding. "I'm here to make you listen to me." Scrunching her brows up my mom opened her mouth to speak, but I shook my head "Listen."

I took a step towards her "So, I spoke to grandma, she told me about when you and Lisa wanted me and Alec to be together." Tilting my head at my mom, I placed my hand on my hip raising my brows at her. "That was before we became a family!" She exclaimed in exasperation. "We're a family, but we're not related. Alec isn't my brother!" I yelled in frustration, looking at her in disbelief. Shaking her head at me, my mom sighed "Maybe you're not biologically related, but he may as well be your brother, do you not understand how strange this is?" Confusion was laced in her voice. "He's not my brother!" I screamed throwing my hands in the air.

A creak on the stairs caught my attention, I looked towards them seeing Alec at the top looking at me in confusion. "Alec's my boyfriend mom." I told her not taking my eyes off of Alec, watching a small smile appear on his face. "You can be against it all you want, you can make me live in another house, but that won't change anything. You're being ridiculous!" I snapped smiling when I finally got the words out.

Placing her head in her hands my mom let out a groan "I need some space." She snapped raising her hands in the air and storming into the living room.

Shutting my eyes, I felt a tear trickled down my cheek, I let out a groan. "Don't cry baby." Alec whispered causing my to jump, I didn't even hear him descend the stairs. His thumb smoothed under my eyes wiping my tears. Opening my eyes, I smiled at him "I don't understand." Pulling me into a hug Alec sighed "Me either." Pressing his lips against my head, he grabbed my hand then led me up the stairs into his room.

"Do you think she'll ever be okay with us?" I asked Alec taking my eyes away from his ceiling to look at him. Sadness pooled in his eyes, my body shifted as he let out a sigh beneath me "I don't know, but I hope so because I'm falling for you hard baby girl." Happiness warmed my body, and a smile adorned my face "Me too." Mirroring my smile, he leaned forward pressing his lips against mine. Passion flowed through my veins as I kissed him back, something inside me knew this was where I was supposed to be. With Alec. It hurt that my mom was refusing to accept it.

"Let's speak about this." My mom spoke from
the door way, causing us both to pull apart. Sitting up I starred at her in shock, offering her a small smile which she returned.

"We've never seen each other as siblings. Mom I don't know how to explain it," I sighed running my fingers through my hair "We're family, but we're not relatives. And I know you don't have to be biologically related to be family, but that's the only way I can explain it." Resting my head on my hand I groaned trying to get my thoughts out.

Placing his hand on my knee, Alec smiled at me before fixing his gaze on my mom "What she's trying to say is...we're meant to be together."

I couldn't contain the joy that coursed through my body at those words. The smile on my face hurt my cheeks, as I looked at Alec in complete admiration, having the strong urge to kiss him but not wanting to in front of my mom.

Blinking in shock, my mom nodded her head slowly. A blank expression set on her face, before suddenly she burst out crying. Freezing in confusion, I gaped at my mother.

"I'm so sorry." She cried, with desperateness in her voice. Shuffling closer to her, I wrapped an arm around her back, trying to comfort her. "I guess I just saw both of you as my kids, I know Lisa's your mom, but," she sighed calming herself down "I don't know, I just love both of you so much. And," pausing, embarrassment spread across her face "I guess I was worried about what other people would say." looking down in shame, she pouted her lips "I'm not perfect you know, I don't know how to handle everything."

Letting out a small laugh, I rubbed my moms back comfortingly. "I forgive you." I told her watching as a smile spread across her face. Wrapping her hands around me and Alec, she pulled us into a hug causing us to let out a laugh.

"Did grandma tell you to fight for what you want." My mom suddenly said pulling away from the hug. Nodding I looked at her in shock "How did you know?" Rolling her eyes my mom chuckled "I am her daughter you know," she spoke in a 'duh' tone "I knew I shouldn't have sent you to her." She smiled side eyeing me. Gasping, I elbowed her gently before we all burst out laughing.

"Do you think she's going to be mad?" I asked Alec looking over at him nervously. Chuckling he shrugged "At least it won't be as bad as Lauren." He teased looking at mom mom in the rear view mirror, she rolled her eyes letting out a laugh.

"Hey babies." Lisa erupted into joy letting go of my mom and pulling me and Alec into a hug. After we had all greeted each other a tension grew in the room.

Lisa's eyes flickered around the room "What's up?" She asked with amusement in her voice. My mom cleared her throat "Um Alec and Eliza need to tell you something."

Lisa's eyes flickered between us with a huge frown settled upon her face. I gulped. Alec placed his hand on my knee and squeezed gently giving me a small reassuring smile.

Lisa's hands flew to her mouth and she let out a gasp "Oh my god! It's happened!" She squealed causing my eyes to widen in shock. "You're together?" She confirmed.

We looked at her in shock then glanced at each other and smiled before nodding. Grabbing my hand Alec pulled it up to his lips and kissed it "Yeah."

Screaming Lisa pulled us into another hug causing happiness to burst inside of me "I always knew this would happen!" She clapped.

After Lisa calmed down I burst out laughing "You should've seen how my mom reacted."
