Jumping when I felt Alec's hand grasp my ass, I widened my eyes in shock, looking across the counter at Lisa and my mom who were completely oblivious. Squinting my eyes at Alec, I gave him a dirty looking whispering asshole at him.

"How do you expect me to keep my hands to myself when you look like this?" Alec whispered into my ear, causing my eyes to widen in alarm. My mom and Lisa were still completely oblivious, their eyes focused on the magazines in their hands as they sipped their coffee.

My eyes flickered to the pyjama shorts and vest top that I was wearing, the same ones Alec had seen my in last night. I rolled my eyes, continuing to eat my cereal in silence.

"Can you guys go to Walmart for me please?" My mom burst into the living room where me and Alec were watching spongebob. Desperation was laced in her voice, causing me to spring to my feet. "Is everything ok?" Nodding my mom shoved a list into my hands "Yes, please just go now!" She shoved me in the direction of the door. "You too Alec." Snapping her fingers she caught his attention.

"What else do we need?"

I glanced over to Alec who was pushing the cart through Walmart, before looking down at the list in my hands. "Milk, eggs and butter." Raising my finger, I pointed in the direction of the fridges.

In normal situations I would assume my mom was making a cake, but her desperateness to get us out of the house told me something was wrong. Part of me was dreading going back home.

Rolling my eyes, I followed Alec who had decided to take a detour to the candy isle. Scanning the candy with his eyes, he began to through piles  of chocolate and candy into the cart.

"I hope you have money for that." I told him, earring another shrug in reply as he finally pushed the cart towards to fridges.

"Oh, let's get some chocolate milk!" Alec exclaimed seeing the flavoured milk. I gave him a blank look, he knows I don't like chocolate milk. Pouting his lips he took a step closer to me "I'll get you strawberry." He negotiated causing me to smile "Fineeee," I dragged out "only if you're paying." I smirked.

"Which milk do we get?" I questioned quietly while scanning the shelves. A pair of arms wrapped around my waist, and smile spread across my face when Alec's lips pressed against my cheek, before he pointed out our regular milk. Thanking him I picked up a carton and placed it into the cart.

Grasping onto the cart, Alec trapped me between him and the cart. Turning my body, I looked at him in confusion and raised a brow in question. He shrugged "I want a better thank you." Jutting out his lips, he signalled that he wanted a kiss. Tilting my head to the side, I wrapped my arms around his neck "You want a kiss babe?" I questioned running my fingers through his hair and stroking the sides of his neck, watching as his eyes darkened. He wrapped his arms around my waist, but I slapped them away shaking my head at him"Don't let go of the cart." I scolded him, smirking when he placed his hands back on the cart, stepping closer to me in the process. Alec's eyes fixed on my lips and I smirked, before spinning around and pushing the cart away "We're in public." I called back to him as I walked away.

"That wasn't fun back there." Alec told me as he parked the car in front of our house. "What?" I played dumb, hiding the smirk that threatened to show. "You know what I'm fucking talking about Eliza!" He snapped causing my eyes to widen in shock. Without a second thought he placed his hands on my shoulders and roughly pulled me closer to him, pressing his lips against mine in a rushed motions. I moaned into the kiss pushing my fingers through his hair.

A loud slam caught our attention, causing us to pull away from each other. My immediate thought was that we had been caught, but what we saw was much worse.

My heart dropped seeing Jeremy stumble out of the door. Both us stayed completely still watching him stumble down the path out of the garden, then down the sidewalk to god knows where. Glancing at each other we widened our eyes before rushing into the house.

"How dare you tell him to leave, he's the love of my life!" Lisa yelled at my mom, a glass bottle smashing against the living room wall in the process. We were gone one hour. How can all of this happen in an hour?

"He's a threat to our children." My mom explained to Lisa, in a calm tone, since it was best not to anger her. "No!" Lisa yelled "He's the love of my life." A scream escaped my lips as I watched Lisa's hand come down against my moms cheek leaving a red mark.

It was silent.

"Mom!" Alec yelled stepping closer to his mom "Get out!"  He seethed his face red with anger and his eyes full of pain, he earned a chuckle in reply as Lisa waved him off without a care. Straightening his body he pointed to the door "You can either leave this house forever, or go to rehab." Alec told her in calmer tone. Lisa let out a laugh glancing over at me and my mom with heavy eyes, both of us made no effort to speak. Shrugging Lisa stumbled over towards me "Fuck you all." The strong smell of vodka on her breath hit me, I almost gaged. Stepping away from her, I moved towards my mom. "Fuck all of you!" Lisa yelled again before leaving with a loud bang of the door.

Drunk Lisa and sober Lisa were two completely different people. It was hard for me to process the fact that this Lisa and the Lisa I know and love are the same person.

In a rush I made my way to the refrigerator, pulling out a bag of frozen peas and taking them back to my mom. Thanking me, my mom placed the bag against her cheek letting out a slight wince.

"What the hell happened!" Alec shrieked taking a seat on the sofa. Me and mom sat down on either side of him. Placing a hand on his knee that was bouncing up and down, I offered him a comforting smile as my mom let out a sigh.

"Jeremy called your mom, that's why I sent you to Walmart." I knew something was wrong. "And then...you know."

Alec's fingers ran through his hair tugging on the end "I can't believe she hit you, I'm so sorry." Tears pooled in his eyes as he glanced down at his lap as he shook his head in confusion, he looked up at my mom apologetically. Pulling him into a hug my mom shook her head at his words "I'm sorry too Alec, you shouldn't have to see this."

As Alec hugged my mom, his shoulders shook gently telling me he was crying. Tears spilled down my cheeks as I watched him cry into my moms shoulder. Placing my hand on his shoulder I squeezed it, causing him to pull away from my mom, immediately pulling me into a hug.

"I'm so sorry baby." He whispered into my ear, his body shaking with his cry. Shaking my head, I ran my fingers through his hair trying to calm him down "It's not your fault." He didn't deserve any of this.

"I love you both!" My mom exclaimed wrapped her hands around both of us.

"Love you too."

"Me too."

Swinging Alec's door open I popped my head inside his room seeing him strumming a sad tune on his guitar. "Are you okay?" I asked quietly stepping inside and shutting the door behind me.

Placing his guitar down, Alec motioned me over towards him. "Are you ever going to let me hear a song." I smiled sitting between Alec's legs. His thumb stroked my cheek and he smiled "I'm only playing for fun." I rolled my eyes we both knew he wanted a career in music.

"Are you okay?" I mumbled looking into his deep brown eyes. Shrugging Alec wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me on to his lap "I'm worried about her, but I think I did the right thing." Nodding I pulled him into a hug, feeling him sigh against my neck.

We sat in silence, just hugging each other. I ran my fingers up and down Alec's back drawing random shapes. "Hmm," Alec hummed into my neck "That feels good." He told me causing me to chuckle, and pull away slightly so I was looking into his eyes.

Pressing my palm against Alec's cheek, I smiled as his eyes flickered closed, his face unconsciously moving towards my hand. "Stay here tonight?" He questioned opening eyes and looking at me in a pleading manner. "Sure."
