"Why am I so nervous?" I asked glancing at my my mom and Alec. Alec slipped his hand across the middle seat, grasping mine, and giving me a reassuring smile. "It's only Lisa, Hun." My mom smiled at me in the rear view mirror from the front seat.

"We're hear to see Lisa Jones, we made an appointment." My mom told the receptionist. Smiling, the receptionist began typing into the computer. "Room 138." She told us handing my mom a card, explaining that we needed to use it to open any doors.

"136, 137, 138!" I exclaimed as my eyes landed on the door number. Scanning the card, my mom pushed the door open leading the way into the room. Alec's hand rested against my back as we stepped in.

"Hey!" Lisa smiled in excitement seeing us all step into the room.

After hugging her, we all took a seat around the room. My insides warmed as I looked at her in her sober state finally getting help for herself.

"So how was the big charity event?" Lisa asked excitement laced in her eyes. Alec glanced at me a small smirk spread across his face. "It was great, the room was so beautiful." I gushed to Lisa ignoring Alec's looks. Slumping her shoulders Lisa pouted "I wish I could've been there, oh" she paused looking at my mom "that reminds me I'm so sorry for Alec running off like that." She apologised tutting at Alec. Me and my mom waved her off, having already gotten over that drama and not wanting to bring it up again.

"So how are you doing?" My mom switched topics, smiling hopefully at Lisa. "Surprisingly," Lisa giggled "I'm enjoying it here, it doesn't feel like a prison like I expected it to. But I have some bad news I guess," Our ears all perked up as she picked at the comforter on her bed avoiding eye contact. With a shrug she told us "I'm going to be here a long time. Maybe a year. I've gone months being sober and I've always fell back into it, I want to fully recover this time." Blowing out a breath in shock, I nodded. I expected her to be gone for a few months not a year.

"I'm going to miss you all." Lisa mumbled her lip jutting out ask tears pricked at her eyes. My mom pulled her into a hug letting out a little laugh "We'll be here so much, you'll be sick of us. Your recovery is the most important thing." She spoke stroking Lisa's head gently. Nodding Lisa pulled away from my mom with a smile.

"Are you actually going to recover though?" Alec blurted out suddenly. Lisa glanced at me and my mom who stared at Alec in shock "Of course I am." Lisa gasped in surprise holding a hand to her chest.

"Alec." I spoke cautiously looking at him in confusion. Earlier he was so excited to see his mom, and he seemed so happy when he told me she was in rehab.

"I mean how many times have you told us that you're going to recover, and how many times has that been a lie?" Alec snapped standing to his feet. Throwing her legs over the bed Lisa stood up, sadness pooling in her eyes "Alec-"

"Save it."

The three of us watched in shock as Alec stormed out of the room, closing the door with a bang. Tears slipped down Lisa's cheeks as she starred at the place her son had left. Sitting beside her, my mom pulled her into a hug whispering comforting words to her. "When you recover, it's going to be fine. He doesn't hate you he's just afraid." My mom whispered to Lisa stroking her arm gently.

Standing to my feet I smiled sheepishly, pointing a finger over my shoulder "I'll go check on Alec." My mom stood to her feet "Are you sure I can-"

"It's fine mom."

Finding Alec wasn't difficult, he was sat in the car with his head rested on the steering wheel.

Alec's head snapped up as I opened the door, watching as I settled myself into the passenger seat. Seeing him instantly made me want to cry, tears stained his cheeks and his eyes were red and puffy.

"Are you okay?"

With a sigh, he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me across the car into his lap, shoving his head in the crook of my neck. After recovering from my shock, I smiled lacing my fingers through his hair "Are you going to tell me what's wrong?"

His arms tightened around my waist as he lifted his head to look at me. "I don't know...when she said she was going to recover it just felt all too familiar you know?" Alec groaned. Placing my hand on his cheek I gave him a sad smile. "I just can't be bothered getting hurt again." Alec's voice cracked as he starred into my eyes.

"I can't promise you anything babe, but this time is different. This time she's getting professional help, maybe this will be the time." Rubbing my thumbs under his eyes, I wiped away his tears. After a moment of thought Alec nodded "Maybe your right."

Smiling I placed a kiss against his lips "I hope so."

"I like when you call me babe." Alec smirked causing my eyes to roll.

"Shit." Alec cursed "your moms coming babe." He told me nudging me to get off of his lap. Untangling my hands from his hair, I jumped off his lap basically throwing myself in the back seat, while Alec shuffled in to the passenger seat.

Moments later my mom returned, looking at Alec with concern. "Are you okay?" She questioned him. Smiling Alec nodded "I guess I just needed a moment." Nodding in understanding my mom took the keys off Alec and started the car.

"And to think it would've all been fine if Jeremy stayed away from us all." Alec mumbled as my mom drove us all home. Scoffing my mom nodded in agreement "Jeremy ruins everything."
