I feel his blue eyes search me for secrets even my secrets haven't found. His set jaw clenches, for he knows I'm the one he has been awaiting.

He's attractive yes, but oh so scary.

Why am I scared?
Why is the girl, who would do anything to keep her family safe from the dark light, scared?

Why is she scared of him?

"Thievery isn't what I thought of you, Gabriella Isoderias."

"I beg to differ, thievery is how we live. I don't get money like you do. And my name is Gabriella Isoderias - Davis", I spit back.

I'm surprised by my choice of words, letting him know who I am and what I do wasn't my best option.

He smiles to my bitterness.

"Cheeky aren't you, Davis", he grins," Perhaps I shouldn't put you in jail and let you carry on."

I roll my eyes.

As if a snake of a prince would let me free.

"You wouldnt do that for someone of my kind", I speak, barely whispering, but he grins even more now.

"You're wrong, that's exactly why I would spare you. That and you're gorgeous.", He winks.

I blush pink.

How very shallow.

"However", his blue eyes turn dark," If I do so, you mustn't be reckless and foolish, for if you get caught again, I won't be able to save you. Even as king"

The words sting me, very unexpectedly.

I spin on my heel, exiting with a nod of my head,when I stop.

"Thank you sir"

He chuckles. " Call me Roy, sweetheart"

I scurry out of the room.
