"We are now arriving at Beacon Academy." The announcement jarred me out of my seat, waking me up. I looked around at my surroundings. I sighed. "I'm the only one on this ship," I remembered. "Come on, on your feet," a guard said. I stood up and looked out the window. I saw a central tower and students walking to their classes. The ship's doors opened and I walked out into the warm sun. "I wonder what it like here," I thought. "Would it be the same as Atlas, everything militarized and pristine or would it be-"  "Here's your things," the guard said, interrupting my thoughts. I muttered a quiet "thanks" and  grabbed my bag and started walking towards the tower. I looked at the list I was given. First on the agenda was to  go talk to Headmaster Ozpin. "Let's get this over with," I thought.

At the meeting...

I sat across from Headmaster Ozpin. The way he sat and his posture showed me he was not threatened by me, nor was he worried I would attack him. A single light hung between me and him, occasionally swinging, casting eerie shadows all over the room. "Ugh, reminds me of the time I was debriefed (more like interrogated) after my 'accident'," I thought.

"I am very glad to have you here Ryan," Ozpin said, "Despite your 'accident' at Atlas academy." He lowered his gaze from my informational sheet to meet my eyes. I stared back into them. "Do you know what I see in your eyes, Ryan?" he said. I didn't know what to say, so I just shook  my head. "I see a great pain, lots of regret, and anger towards the world," he said. "What makes you feel this way?" I narrowed my eyes and said," You would feel regret and anger too if you got your whole team killed." I suddenly had a flash back. I was holding Takeda's body, watching him bleed out. I shook my head and was brought back to my senses. Ozpin looked back at me in silence. It felt as if he saw the same thing I did. "Very well then," he said. "I shall assign a team to be under your command for the duration of your stay here." I stood up and looked at him with a look of anger and disbelief. "Why would you let me lead another team after what happened to my old one?" I demanded. "Well I believe it is our actions that make us who we are, and mistakes are a part of that," he said. "No off you go to meet your new team in their dormitory."

I picked up my bag and started heading for the door, but before I left I turned around and looked Ozpin straight in the eyes. "Yes?" he said. "What happened to my team wasn't a mistake," I said. "What happened was murder." I walked out of his office towards the dorms, leaving him alone in the dimly lit room with my words to ponder upon.
