"Can you hear me?" a voice asked. I opened my eyes to blinding white light. "Where...where am I?" I asked. "The hospital," a voice replied. I rubbed my eyes and sat up. The blinding white light cleared, revealing that I was in a hospital room. "What happened to me?" I asked. "You passed out and remained comatose for three days," the doctor responded. "You're fine now, but I must stress that you refrain from fighting the next few days." I nodded. The doctor left the room, leaving me alone. I rubbed the back of my neck. "That was all a dream?" I thought. "It seemed so real and vivid." I stood up and took off the hospital gown and got dressed in my t-shirt and jeans. I left the room and went to the front desk. "Can you tell me what room Yang Xiao Long is in?" I asked. The woman at the desk typed a couple things. "Room 24, second floor," she responded. I thanked her and took the stairs, not wanting to wait for the elevator. I arrived at the second floor and found room 24 in no time. I cracked the door open and stuck my head inside. I saw Yang was awake and eating breakfast with Ruby sitting next to her. I knocked on the door and Ruby waved me in. I stepped inside and closed the door. "How are you Yang?" I asked. She coughed before answering. "I'm pretty banged up, but I'll be fine," she replied. Ruby handed her a cup of water and Yang accepted it. "I just wanted to check up on you," I said. I started to leave but Yang stopped me. "Ruby, could you leave for a moment?" asked Yang. Ruby nodded and left without a word. She closed the door leaving us alone. I went over and sat next to her. "What did you want to tell me?" I asked. She took my hand and coughed. "The doc said I took seven bullets and I would've died if it weren't for you," she said. I smiled. "I did what I could," I replied. The doctor came in and ushered me out. "She needs her rest," the doctor said. "When will she be released?" I asked. The doctor flipped through her notes. "I'm not sure, but it won't be for another few weeks," the doctor replied. I nodded and thanked her.
I left the hospital and hailed a taxi. "Beacon Academy please," I said. The driver turned and looked at me. I was surprised when she smiled and stuck me with a needle. The last thing I remembered seeing were her brown and pink eyes.

I felt cold water splash on my face and I was jarred awake. I looked down and saw I was tied to a chair, my legs and arms secured. I struggled and looked around. I was in an industrial warehouse, a single light shined down on me. A man walked into the light and stopped in front of me. "Hello Ryan," he said. I struggled as he neared me. "Do you know who I am?" he asked. I stopped struggling and looked at him. "Should I know?" I retorted. He chuckled, no humor present. "I work for a group of extremists that want to work for a change. A major change," he said. "And you," he looked into my eyes. "Are going to work for us, whether you like it or not." I glared at him. "What makes you think that?" I spat. He tapped the side of his head. "Do you remember when you were experimented on as a child?" he asked. I clenched my fists. "What about it?" He raised an eyebrow. "That was a very important point in your life. You see, we have been planning for this for many years now," he said. He pointed at me. "You are going to be the world's most powerful living weapon!" I started to struggle again. "I'll never kill for you!" I yelled. He knelt down next to me. "You don't understand do you?" he said. "You don't have a choice!" He clapped his hands and the same girl I saw before wheeled in a cart. On the cart was a purple ball and a remote control. Fear crawled into my heart. The man walked over to the cart and clicked something on the ball. The ball activated and crackled with electricity. My head suddenly felt as if someone was trying to split it open. "AUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!" I screamed. I writhed in the chair, feeling as if my head was going to explode. "Stop struggling and give in!" commanded the man. I clenched my fists and grit my teeth. "I can't take this!" I thought. "The pain is too much!" I continued writhing as the man watched, smiling a devilish grin. "Neo, begin the preparations for phase 2," the man said. The girl bowed and disappeared into the darkness. My vision started to waver and I finally succumbed to the pain, passing out.
