Night: a few minutes before the dance
Sunday arrived faster than I expected, and before I knew it, Team RWBY and JNPR dragged me along to get our outfits. "That looks great on you Ryan!" exclaimed Weiss. I looked at myself in the mirror and hardly recognized myself. I was wearing a black tuxedo with a white dress shirt underneath, all finished up with a black tie and black dress pants and shoes. My hair was slicked and combed to the right, different from my usual undercut. I looked away in disgust. I saw Weiss' face fall and she asked me, "What's wrong? You don't like it?" I looked into her alluring blue eyes. "No, I love it," I said, "It's just that it brings back memories of my mother's funeral, memories I'm trying to forget." She nodded her head in understanding and led me to where the others were sitting.
Yang whistled. "Looking fresh Ryan!" she said. I saw that the girls all wore matching snow white dresses. Except for Nora and Pyrrha. Nora wore a bright pink dress, while Pyrrha wore a stunning lava red dress. Jaune and Ren both had blue suits. "So off to the party we go then," said Jaune. Ruby looked around. "How?" she asked. "We have no ride." "No problem," I answered. I grabbed my scroll and clicked on a contact. "Yeah, can I get Gus on the line?" I asked. I waited for a minute. "Hey Gus!" I said, "How's the family? Yeah, well I need a limo stat at the front of the Tuxedo & Clothes." I listened to what he had to say. "Yeah just take as much as you feel is worth," I answered. "Ten minutes?" I peered down at my watch. "Yeah, okay, that'll be great!" I said, "Thanks Gus! Bye." I looked back at the group. "The ride will be here in a little bit." I saw Jaune had kind of a shocked face. "What?" I asked. "How...much did this ride cost?" asked Jaune. "Just a couple Lien," I said shrugging. "How much Lien?" Weiss questioned. "Like 500 lien for an hour or something like that," I said nonchalantly. "500 lien an hour!?" exclaimed Jaune. "Do you know how many pancakes I can buy with that!?" he asked in disbelief. "Look it doesn't matter how much it costs, as long as we all enjoy ourselves," I said.
At this point the limo arrived and I opened the door for everyone to get in. I got in last and shut the door behind us. "Whooo!!!!! PARTY!!!" yelled Nora. She popped open a bottle of soda and promptly drank the whole thing and belched loudly. "Aw gross Nora," said Jaune, waving his hand in front of his face. I knocked on the sheet of glass separating us from the driver. It slid open. "Where to kid?" the driver asked. "Take us to Beacon Academy," I replied. "You got it kid," the driver said. He started the engine and pulled out of the store's front, heading towards Beacon Academy.

At the dance...
We arrived at the dance without a hitch. It was upon entering, I realized I didn't have a date and was third wheel. "Oh great," I thought. I trudged inside and saw everyone had already dispersed and was now all in their little groups, either dancing or talking. I walked over to the punch bowl and poured myself a cup and sipped it slowly. I looked towards the center and saw Weiss and Neptune slow dancing. I crushed my cup in frustration. I decided it would be better if I got some fresh air. I stood in the pale light and looked at the shining moon. I was about to turn and leave when I noticed a shadow out of place. It suddenly moved and streaked across the ground and disappeared into the museum. "Strange," I thought. I looked back at the party and saw everyone laughing. "They won't miss me," I thought bitterly. I jumped off the balcony and landed in the courtyard below. I started to sprint towards the museum, casting shadows all around me.

Museum
I opened the museum's doors and peered around the corner. I saw the edge of a cloak disappear around the corner. I ran after the shadow and found it smashing open a jewelry case and absorbing the stones into its body. I stood out into the light and yelled, "Hey! Put those back!" The shadow turned its whole body towards me and solidified. "What the..." That was as far as I got before it shot me in the chest. I flew into the marble walls and stayed there. "Ow..." I said. "I actually felt that." I pulled my self out and looked at my suit jacket. It was ripped to shreds. The suit Weiss picked out for me had been destroyed. I cracked my neck and knuckles. "Oh, you're in for it now," I said. I took off the jacket and threw it to the side. I pulled my two swords out of their sheaths and rushed the shadow. It converted its shotgun into a double sided blade and ran towards me too. We clashed blades and sparks flew. It danced around in front of me, giving me no chance to stab it. I finally cornered it and stabbed through its chest. "Gotcha!" I exclaimed. The shadow simply disappeared and reappeared behind me and grabbed my neck, throwing me into another wall, leaving one of my swords embedded in the wall. It appeared instantly in front of me and gave me no chance to recover and stabbed me in the side. I gasped and felt blood instantly ooze out of the wound. I grabbed the shadow's arm and thrust my knee into its face, shattering its mask. It growled, reformed its mask and made copies of its self, surrounding me. They all attacked at once, a whirlwind off slashes, thrusts and blows. They all fused together and kicked me in the gut. I fell on the floor, bleeding out. The shadow turned and disappeared into the night.
