Chapter 49: Camp out

It's a regular day in Dragon's Edge, and I'm eating my breakfast. Everyone was tired from the least few days. We have been upgrading our defenses to advanced, so it would be better to defend Dragon's Edge. We finished yesterday, but since it took us 3 weeks. I'm still tired from hammering the defenses, and WindShear is tired from lifting logs and gronkle iron.

Everyone is eating but Tuff and Ruff are falling sleep, slowly. Until Tuffnut's head landed in his plate, having food all over his face. As well as Ruffnut. I chuckled as I continued eating in what's on my plate.

I saw Astrid came in, late as she sat down next to me.

"Where were you?" I asked as Astrid shrugged.

"I went on a morning flight with StormFly then arrived here late. So what." She replied as I facepalmed.

"Well...this is the 5th time you came late for breakfast." Tuffnut woke up and said, as I nodded in agreement.

Then Hiccup came, rubbing his eyes.

"And what is your excuse, mister." Tuffnut said to Hiccup.

"I stayed up too late, making adjustments to Toothless's tail." Hiccup said as he yawned.

"By the way, I was thinking-"

"Oh no! No more work! I'm tired and I haven't got enough sleep!!" Snotloud said.

"You didn't let me finish, anyways, I was thinking if we could take a few days off. Maybe a week or two." Hiccup continued as a relaxing sigh came from Snotloud.

"Ahh...finally some rest." Snotloud said as he put arms behind his neck.

"So how long guys? Two weeks or a few days?" Hiccup asked.

"TWO WEEKS!" Everyone yelled as Hiccup chuckles.

"I knew it, our vacation starts tomorrow." He said as everyone celebrates.

I looked at Astrid as she was eating. I don't believe her on why she came late. Maybe she did something else then the morning flight. I decided to make her crack open and tell me. But that would be later, for now, I want rest.

~Astrid Pov~

Today is the day we get to rest. Like Hiccup said yesterday, we have 2 weeks off! Which is awesome! I could rest and spend some time with Hiccy. I was going to the clubhouse since everyone is going to meet there. As I passed Hiccup's hut. It reminds of last night.

*Last Night*

Astrid was at Hiccup's hut, staying up for a little. She suppose to get her axe, since she left there. But end up staying there for a bit, but she didn't mind. She liked staying at Hiccup's hut, she liked even more when it's night.

Astrid sat next to Toothless while Hiccup was getting them drinks. Toothless licked Astrid's hand as Astrid giggles. Astrid patted Toothless in head while he purred softly. While smiling, Astrid started to scratch Toothless in the neck. Making Toothless purr even more.

Hiccup came with the drinks, and pass a cup to Astrid. She took it and took a sip. He sat next to Astrid and put an arm around her waist. Toothless put his tail on top of their legs, as he hugging them. Then Hiccup sat up and open a basket that was near us. He pulled out a fish, throwing towards Toothless.

Toothless opened his mouth and caught the fish, swallowing it whole. He opened his mouth again, pleading for more.

"No more Toothless, you already ate. And that was a treat, we don't want a fat Toothless." Hiccup said as Toothless have him the puppy eyes.
